@ I’m going to have to experiment more with running it before distortion/od/fuzz! I’ve found myself using it with the mix&depth very low, with the feedback and space nearly maxed…Creates a nice ambiance that isn’t too extreme(it get extreme QUICKLY!) It’s a very unique pedal and I’m happy to have found one!

I really like the inventiveness and unique sounds Fairfield produce, I have never owned one but watched lots of videos of people demoing them. On this demo this sounds a little like a bagpipe being played in harmony or through an harmonizer pedal.😀
@HarshTonesInc25 күн бұрын
Sounds about right haha! I've got a few layers of bass and guitar parts happening here, which explains the harmonizer. I was intentionally mimicking synthesizer sounds but I definitely get the bagpipe thing - it's got that drone!

I just dont understand why youd make a $350 vibe with no expression control. Varying rate is such an important part of the sound
@HarshTonesIncАй бұрын
According to Thorpy, they just didn't have enough space to fit the Neutrik expression jacks above the circuit board. Would have required a new custom enclosure

Not so harsh for this channel but definitely one of the best fuzzes I've ever heard! The "hollow glass" tone around 8:40 was pure "foxy lady". A lot of fuzzes unfortunately have kind of a "reedy" top end. This one doesn't.
@HarshTonesIncАй бұрын
It's true, I rolled back the harshness a bit for this one. Technically C. regalis is an overdrive rather than a fuzz, so I tried to keep it closer to something a regular guitar player might do with it. I see what you mean about the "hollow glass" sound - def does that thing. Astute observation. Thanks for watching!

@JeremyAndersonBoiseАй бұрын
Solid demo, it covers a lot of what it will do. It will also sing soaring melody leads like no other fuzz. I don’t want the modern high gain metal sound, but a lot of fuzz pedals lack tightness or focus, the active EQ really allows for some tweezing to get the voicing right.

lol at the other comment, this is exactly how i design my fuzzes, if they can get smooth muffy “fuzz” or early to mid 70s “distortion still means bad & the only word we have for ‘square waving out the guitar signal a bit’ is fuzz, sssso…” “fuzz” thats great, but i want dirty sleazy fuzz, i want it to sputter like its dying if i starve the transistors, i dont just want trimpots i want full front panel pots for voltage starving & tranny biasing (youd think id get enough of that going to walmart 🙄), i want to be able to make it sound reedy & pathetic (but slammed so loud it still bullies the mix if you let it) or scuzzy & super death doomy if you want. maestro fz1b revision 2 is my favorite vintage fuzz with most of that covered, devi ever did about 50 times before billy corgans vile hateful ranting pushed the woman 99% responsible for “his” famous guitar sound (&those of a LOT of 80s/90s indie/alt rock guitar heroes…) off the internet, and the zvex fuzz factory manages to do it all without doing any of it quite perfect enough for me… SO im back to working on my zvex/devi ever inspired fz1b v2 styled ultimate fuzz, possibly w so many features ill be required to learn to use the surface mounting gear i bought years ago & use a digital/analog hybrid interface to fit it on a non lunchbox sized case (though the lunchbox pedal would be appropriate to the dirty amateur (at the time who wasnt) 60s fuzz look? 😂
@xeviexcorexАй бұрын
should add this & the alpha haunt fuzz are my two fav modern/“boutique” fuzzes on the market. No more big muff clones please! I know r&d me is recovering from (ANOTHER) crack ketamine & hookers bender but clone something else!!! Your clone of an obscure muff variant thats only differences were 1. Used now unavailable transistors you haven’t seemingly attempted to emulate the sound of at all & 2. Had a “rare” paint job that was probably due to corporate cost cutting. Make a bucket brigade delay!! Make a bass di, or a bass with 2 channels so ucan fuzz/distort the mids n highs while passing a low clean signal so we don’t have to split our signal to do it, then put in a Octavia style transformer “octave fuzz” & a smooth breathy 1 knob compressor on thr whole thing (my idea do not actually steal!! but then again who reads the comment sections, especially replies to oneself)
