The "guess" variable in Excel's IRR function is directly related to the concept of local minima and maxima that we encounter in calculus, mainly when dealing with iterative numerical methods. Both the calculation of IRR and the determination of local extrema often rely on these methods, which begin with an initial approximation and refine it through successive steps to reach a solution. The IRR function utilizes iterative approaches to discover the discount rate that equates the net present value (NPV) to zero. If you leave it blank it assumes a rate of 0.10 (ten percent).

Why did you calculate the equivalent units for beginning work-in-process by multiplying the actual units by the percentage to be completed for conversion but multiply the actual units for ending work-in-process by the percentage completed for conversion?

When I looked at this video you skipped totally over one piece of infomation when you subtracted the Assets from the Liability and got $8,978,000 for Net position, you never explained how you got Net investment capital amount that was the reason I clicked on the video . Not good detail

Great explanation, thank you! Do you need to include advertising costs in order to see if the price increase generated in more Contribution Margin (3)? If the price increase was 20%, but the customer acquisition costs (ad costs to generate a new client) rose with 25%, you are simply generating less CM, right?

For the initial consideration column of the original contract (time 3:21 +), could you help me understand why total consideration amount is not calculated at $65/month, doesn't the contract include phone, unlimited talk & data?
