Does the assisted teaching pathway mean you are qualified as a teaching assistant no matter where you do the course? My college never mentioned this! Thanks

Terrible course. Would not recommend. Everyone I know who's taken it with me hates it.

@@NeajarAbbas As a student who's been doing it for almost a year I can tell you why. It's business & computing, and extremely hard. It has a pass rate of 50%. In the first year, you study and learn the topics, then revise and do: Core Paper 1 (Topic 1-4) Computing for 2h 30mins. Core Paper 2 (Topic 5-8) Business for 2h 30mins. Employer Set Project - Computing + Business for 3 weeks. In the second year, you must: Find a job placement for 350 hours. Study. Not to mention, business seems to be more. I've had significantly more business lessons, than computing lessons. It's terrible. Just do A-level computing, or Btec Computing.

@@hetbet3879 Im starting the course in september. Sounds like you needed to read the Course infomation more detailed. The course is supposed to give you bussniess ideas as its also about computing in the real world. The job placement is obviously hard work but its a good part of the course as you get real world experience. Theres nothing wrong with a written test if you revise. Also reccomending A-Level is not a good idea as it requires other subjects alongside and T-Level you will learn more as its core focus. If you do the research you should have known what to expect.

@@XxZippy07xX Son, I'm sorry to announce but I'm now officially 1 entire year into the course. Please read the ofsted report of T-levels, and using Ctrl + F highlight the word 'digital'. You can see ofsted agree with all my complaints. Also, just wanted to share. It's been 1 year, and approximately 7/17 people within my course haven't found ANY open positions, or passed the interviews. We've all spent hours looking every few weeks, and we attend all interviews we can, even the college is looking and offering us potential interviews. Another issue. The course IS HIGHLY business related. Which sucked, because at the college I'm attending they removed any other course related to computer science, including A-levels. So it was the only computing related course there, so of course I took it along with classmates. and I mean, extremely. You do very little coding at all. Maybe 1 hour every week, which you just copy code that's already been written on the board, and not explained. Unless you learn outside the classroom, you will not gain any skills. And for course work, expect a healthy overdose of: Documents Powerpoints Videos/Interviews Mock Podcasts where you must google the subject, research it, then write it down, present to the class while reading your notes, and then answer questions and feedback. If you come to this course expecting course work like coding, making programs, comparing datasets, using systems, you will be thoroughly upset. Although, don't let my opinion sway you. How about you search the course on youtube? Perhaps listen to the video series produced by Ernest Kowal, where he discusses how disappointed he was with it, and how the exams were before and after. And if you're still unswayed, go in, live the experience, and tell me how many times you're promised stuff but never receive it. Also as you said, nothing wrong with a written test as long as you revise... But unless you're willing to pay for the coursebook released by the examiners, and study at home, don't expect much. If you want to do super good I would probably recommend: PURCHASE THE COURSEBOOK REVISE AT HOME HOURS EVERY DAY (2-3) LEARN THE SOFTWARE (Powerpoint, Documents, Videos, Visual Studio Code, text files lol, Power Bi, Project.) Also keep in mind, the role you'll be considered is a 'Senior Manager', not a software engineer, or software designer etc. The course is about 60% business and 40% IT, with a lot of work being done by the student themselves, including researching topics, watching 20+ minute videos, using free courses online etc. You cannot deny my opinion. If you want around 20+ other students who were in Year 1, I can give you an invite link to a discord server full of students from across the country including Somerset, London, parts of Ireland too. Although, I will warn you, they have the same viewpoint as me. AND FUN FACT FROM the Ofsted review. Only 61% of people who are in the Digital course, actually COMPLETE IT. AKA do the exams + work placement. And the digital course is considered 'the least happy'. Anyways, have a fabulous night my son, and I pray yours isn't as miserable, but I would suggest preparing for the worse and considering finding another course, OR sticking things out and taking my place in a year, warning newcomers.
