String players have to sometimes go crazy and make pact with you know who LOL and face so many tragedies in life and even end in tragedy to be remembered and known. While flautist are remembered by virtuosity but forgotten by name and time except the most beautiful melody they wrote.

As a professional musician who has played every instrument and taught every instrument, I can easily say violin is the better of two by a long shot, especially when it comes to emotion. There is only so much a person can do on a wind instrument. The instrument is limited by its ergonomics and construction. The violin however has more opportunities to sculpt the sound with texture and glissandos and more very similar to the human voice.

This will, inevitably be unfair: Bear with me. I'm on a computer. I can listen to this or type Chaconne Bach Heifetz in the searchbar. I appreciate that you are doing this... but, just for the instrument... forget the technique... I have to be brutal with my moments on the planet. Do listen to Heifetz. You may never get the Stardivario or the Guarnieri but you may pick up a few tips.
