when u bond over tequila shots at a walker infested hotel & admit u didn’t tell the kids (Nick & Alicia) their dad prob drove into oncoming traffic, and that friend has your back 2 seconds later when walkers over take the lobby/bar of hotel, that’s kinda a bond u can’t forget. (*Strand & Madison getting drunk & him calling out her southern twang that comes and goes, depending on situation (me too irl)). That’s why I think Madison has blind faith in Strand & his bag of bullshit he always carries.

Plz do an image search of the actor that plays Strand (Coleman Domingo). He’s been on lots of fashion & best actor lists of several things & was nominated for an Oscar not too long ago. Fear was kinda his springboard to leveling up. He’s a smooth operator, as one can tell by the way he plays Strand.

Until u pointed it out, I hadn’t thought of the tattoo at that flea market since I saw the ep in ‘17. Tattoo of an eyeball on the lid of an eyeball possible theories: 1) if they doze off, it’d be hard to tell from a distance & deter someone sneaking up while snoozing 2); to blend in w/ a horde in a weird way like the Whisperers 3) the tattoo artist & “I see you when I’m sleeping” guy had some intricate barter thing happening at the flea market that was probably layered, convoluted & deserves it’s own backstory. Why would one do that really is one of the great mysteries lol

External validation that’s what Nick is looking for. And bullets shot into the air can definitely come down and kill someone.

As a queer person I’m most looking forward to meeting Rhaenyra’s cousin Lady Jeyne Arryn. One of the few gay female characters from the books.

I downloaded this version of “Stand By Me” after the ep originally aired & still listen to it from time to time. Great use of background music setting the tone.

I’ve never been a big fan of Madison.

Troy is a very damaged almost evil person. but he has a spark and a affinity for fighting and leading that jake lacks. That is part of the reason why madison is puting so much effort into manipulating him.

I think the reason Nick gravitates to Jeremiah is b/c he sees him as some sort of father figure that he never felt w/ Travis, just like Troy gravitates to Madison as a mother figure. I think she sees that too & she’s playing him to ultimately protect her family.

I totally forgot about the Troy backstory about being locked in the basement - adds to his complexities.

You’re fairly accurate of the timeline of things, best I could tell too. Remember, Carol killed 2 ppl at the prison when the sickness was going around but Rick banished her for it. The actress that plays Madison is southern, but in that opening I think she exaggerated it to play up to the rednecks.

I think they're taking anyone who they believe could cause them trouble (emotionally high-risk people, those that will take up the most resources, people that they can't manipulate/intimidate into submission, etc...

Am I the only person who thought it may be Matthew? He shows up at the perfect time, was unsupported of Sarah and Adam having a kid, and even pushes her to relinquish the case. Got me. Hated the ending, too.

I feel like that brief talk Liza had with Chris after they got to the house was her goodbye to him. If Chris knew she was going to do that then he would’ve tried to stop her and I think that was Liza thought process when she went off on her own 😭 I’m the same way with shows so don’t worry, I loved the reaction and how invested you are with the characters. Can’t wait to see your reactions going forward!!

Daniel Salazar will definitely be one of your faves trust me. I've seen all of 1-8. I actually got back into TWDU after TLOU adaptation dissapointed me. While FTWD gets a bit goonie at times. Its a fun journey.

the giraffe is real! theres behind the scene pics of some of the actors with it. also! marlene, tommy, joel, AND ellie's VA's/mocap actors were in the show :) loved your reactions. i laughed and cried along with you. ellie def would have done it, even knowing it would kill her. i, however, don't think it was the right setting. the doctor had no actual experience as a surgeon, the fireflies were OBSESSED with a cure and im pretty sure they killed other people while trying to find it. theyre going off of a hypothesis by a guy who barely passed medical school so who knows how right he is? marlene was supposed to keep ellie safe, she promised her mom and then sends ellie off to get killed for the cure wirhout telling her. maybe it would have worked, but the world was 20 years into the apocalypse. it would never be the same. how many people would the vaccine work for? would the goverment get their hands on it & make it something hard to get? but also maybe she would have died for nothing too. joel's lies dug him in a deep hole and i dont blame her for being unsure around him & eventually resenting him, but i think he did the right thing. ANYWAYS. great reactions!!
