It’s too bad these bushings aren’t serviceable with grease nipples. Way to go BMW. An added option to this fix is to add a layer of RTV silicone on the outside of the rubber to seal the hole so the lube stays in longer.

Appreciate the comment, but that joint isn't in the arm. So changing the arm wouldn't fix anything. The joint is pressed into the rear hub. This video is a quick hack to stop the annoying noise before you need to replace the joint.

I honestly can't remember, I bought it from a BMW specialist in my area. But I'd recommend the IWIS timing chain (genuine BMW parts) from BMW. Cheap kits will fail and leave you with a broken engine.

It's based on Saffrone Yellow 1017, but it's a few shades lighter.

I prefer the m47 to n47,but i might be biased,as i've only driven standard n47 177bhp and 143bhp,but i had 163 bhp m47 1 series,which was remapped and ran over 200bhp,the thing was rapid! It felt like a plane lifting off when you blasted it. Loved the engine,had no problems with it,unfortunately the car was quite rotten and really wasn't worth fixing,so i sold it on. In hindsight,i regret selling it. By the way,that ribbed pipe next to oil fill cap probably needs replacing. it's crank breather hose,they go bad real quick,and start to seep oil and soot through,easy fix and new original bmw pipe is like 30 quid i think. off 4 n47 cars i've had,i've had to replace them all,as they become brittle fast.

I've had 2 320D M47's and so far I prefer them hahaha. Luckily the breather isn't cracked it's just a leak from the the o ring. So I've replaced it.

It usually is for a bad solenoid, but I swapped it with one from my other car and the problem persisted. So I decided to look for vacuum leaks. Check for vacuum leaks first before spending money on parts.

Done similar on the daughters yaris. Was night and day. Was convenient that i was tidying up the bumper so i took the lights out. Dropping the bumper isn't as dramatic as it sounds. Saves a lot of potential issues and or damages to other parts.
