It's a drum or at least that's what they're called in TN on KY lake. Most people don't eat them. But we caught several last year while crappie fishing and our youngest son was here visiting from Montana and we fileted a couple of the smaller ones. And to tell the truth they were excellent. Just as good as the white bass and crappie we had cooked at the same time. This was in early April when the water was still cold. And the biggest weighed 3 lbs or so. We caught several that were at least 12 lbs or more. They were hitting roadrunner crappie jigs quite often. We let all but 2 go back in the lake. And that was to see if they were good to eat. We also caught a bunch of channel catfish on the crappie jigs that day. Especially in one small bay. We tipped the jigs with a piece of nightcrawler and they were absolutely biting it great. That's the only time we have ever caught that many cats on the jigs. 29 of them in fact. And most from the one small bay. We returned all of them back to the lake. The biggest weighed 9 lbs. Most were a couple of pounds. We have cast many jigs many of days. For years and occasionally catch a catfish. But that day for whatever reason we caught a lot of them. Haven't done it since either. It was a lot of fun.

In the year 1975 I was on Martha's Vinyard in Ma. I was camping there with my family. We visited a private beach that I don't remember the name of now. What I do remember is we caught 28 Sea Robins that day. There must have a been a school of them swimming offshore because we were catching then without effort. Most were not biting the fishhook. Most were hooked on the side of their body's. I was 16 and will never forget that day. My dad caught it on 8mm movie film that I still have.
