It's not a tantrum, I've owned two Min Pins over the past 16 years, they both did this every night, this is a Min Pin thing, they have to exhaust themselves fully before decompressing for a good night's sleep. I'm surprised you're not aware of this breed trait, it's common.

I've only had two male Min Pins in my life, and I was thinking maybe it was a male thing. I've never seen the females do it (at a breeder's house, where I've also observed them.) But what you are saying makes sense.
