It is not well known but Glenda Gilson was the inspiration for the Suede track "Pantomine Horse".

There’s a certain flavor of sadness that sets in with this song. It’s a place I return to again and again. “Only bored as I get older. Can you help me figure this out?” But no one is there to help you figure it out. Such devastatingly beautiful lyrics throughout. “I’m a gold, gold digging man. I won’t rest til I buy your land” illustrates the futile pursuit of satisfaction through material wealth. “In sweetness comes suffering” demonstrates the lovelorn plight of the hopeless romantic. “I can’t breathe with you lookin at me” is the scrutiny from the person you want to please the most. This song encapsulates the helpless journey of young adulthood inviting you to cry and laugh along in bliss accepting the inevitable.

Always been curious what the noises that start around 4:30 are, I know that they’re on the album version as well and it doesn’t seem like anybody on stage triggers them. I guess it’s just a synth overdubbed on the album and here someone off stage triggered the sample?
@loratadine9219 ай бұрын
They often have a keyboard player off to the side of the stage so it's probably that, but if you watch carefully at around the 5:10 point you can see that it's also a heavily processed backing vocal by Bradford.

Their rendition of Jay Reatard’s “Oh, It’s Such a Shame” split (then he does “Florescent Grey”) is so good I realized this band can do exactly what they want. And while I’m in love 70’s style punk and was spellbound with the raw yet stylistic anger Jay could bring to songs, I respect Deerhunter for what they do and would never assume to underestimate them. This is the sort of music that can sneak up on you!
