If you call caseworkers they are supposed to do a reconsideration but these people hide and ignore people's phone calls. My experience with Legal aid in Dekalb County is not good. Nine times out of 10 they say they can't help you for one reason or another, and they give you a very small window to call and apply to have them take your case. I've found them to be rude and inflexible. Last time I needed them they were not accommodating to those of us who are unable to get to their office, then set an appointment time and didn't even let me know or check with me first and said I missed it. CMS needs to mandate that Medicaid reverse these adverse decisions because this is a wide-spread problem. Can you imagine how backed up administrative Law Judges are with cases like this? I am contacting members of Congress and notifying CMS. Apparently they are in the process of mandating that they stop cutting people off and reinstate those who shouldn't have been cut off in the first place. I hope they don't take too long. Unless Legal Aid plans to file a Class Action suit they will probably stonewall their phone calls too. We need somebody with some power to reverse this.

UMMMM "Not worth getting arrested"? It is absolutely worth getting arrested. If the police unlawfully demand you to leave and you are in fact a resident. In Ca this means you have lived there continuously for more than 30n days with no lapse. If the cops do follow through with a arrest then you have a fat lawsuit against both the city and the hotel. And no matter what you do make sure you record EVERYTHING. no matter what the police say keep recording and stay calm. Provide the police with clear evidence you have lived there for more than 30 days and take the arrest is at all possible. Again stay calm, don't cause a disturbance and keep recording no matter what they say.
