Hi Mr Marcus, thanks for this kind of video. As a final-year student studying IE, it was great to see what it is like working as an IE. In most of automotive companies IEs are given targets to reduce costs for a given period. is it the same for a logistics company like UPS or is it different?

I'm originally from New Orleans, where a lot of, if not most of, the homes were built before air conditioning was available. To make up for that, they are designed to stay as cool as possible without air conditioning. Coming from from New Orleans to Houston, one major difference I see is that most houses in the Houston area aren't built with the Gulf Coast's climate in mind. You also see that with some of the newer homes in the New Orleans area, but mostly in neighboring parishes, and the houses in the Houston area tend to be designed a lot worse in that regard. It's like they're designed for northern climates, not southern ones. Even with air conditioning, some of these houses feel like ovens. They can quickly become unsafe to stay in the event of a prolonged power outage. There's a reason why most of the older houses look the way that they do. People tend to forget about the role architecture plays in making a house comfortable to live in.

What is the difference between an induction engineer & A BaSE Engineering specialist?
@MarcusRangel7046 ай бұрын
Industrial engineers deal more with preload or hub operations. They look more at operating plans whereas a BaSE engineer deals more with the equipment and technology. Two different worlds.

@MarcusRangel7046 ай бұрын
I have a ThinkPad T14 since it is the one my employee provides. It is great and have no issues with it at all. As far as me recommending one to you I do not know lol. It would depend on what you need a laptop for, but there are plenty of youtube reviews for laptops to buy I would try starting your research there. I hope you find what you are looking for!

did you get any info? what are you doing now
@MarcusRangel7046 ай бұрын
I am late to this lol. But i am also curious if you got any info? What are you doing now? Listen- ME, CE, or IE there are all great starting point for your professional careers. Each one gets you in the door to particular job titles, however you can dabble in the same industries it just depends on the title of course. Earning the degree will get you the entry level position making you entry level money. It will be up to you and your performance to determine how deep you will get into a career (Mid level and Senior roles). You show good/great skill in ME or whatever degree you end up earning, I have no doubt that there will be an employer who will not want to hire you or keep you employed. I hope this helps.

Cool video man, what gpa did u need to get this internship?
@MarcusRangel704 Жыл бұрын
Thank you! .....and my gpa at its lowest was a 3.1 but throughout the semesters i got it up to 3.4. I am not a big fan of needing the highest gpa to land an internship....its more about what value you bring to a company. Advertise your skillsets to a potential employer and they will be able to tell a lot from that. So work on your skillsets as these will help you a lot to stand out weather it is work experience, specific technical skillsets, or perhaps some other soft skills such as being able to communicate clearly in front of people which is something i have seen decline over time. Find that niche and try to be the best you can in that. The rest of the stuff will follow such as a desired internship. Apply yourself FIRST before applying to all these other places.
