I've probably listened to this song over a thousand times in the past 8 or so years, but I have somewhat recently felt that the artwork used here... is actually really awesome. I never liked how Sakuya was drawn here when I first saw this video, as if her figure and face was an afterthought to the entire image (after all, usually the character is the forefront of an anime-oriented piece). But then I looked closer to the meticulously detailed wall of gears. Now I feel that the background she is in is the actual focus. The way the background is almost transformed into gears -- quite obviously correlated by the act of opening her pocket watch-- sort of informs to me that it is like she enters another realm when she controls time. Not in literal sense of going into another realm; the way it is visualized or imagined here is like a Persona game in my head (in that it is like a super stylized cut-in for her power), and I can imagine the weight of her abilities more clearly as the world around her bends to her power. And that's not even to add what the wonderful music does to this setting in my imagination.

2020 I was a college kid alone in a big city away from home. The winter was so cold and lonely, and this song was my best friend. I remember listening to this exact version everyday on my way to school, such nostalgia. And now I can play this song on my guitar. My absolute favorite Touhou theme, it means so much to me.
