Saw Jon in that back room at Cream many times. Him and Healy are the ultimate party DJ’s but also loved the more experimental stuff like ‘spastik’ that he’d put into his sets at the 90’s went on. Beautiful man beautiful music.

I can maybe shed some light on the female vocal. Both Jon and Mark Moore used to play it in early to mid 1995. It was a dirty phone line vocal of a lady talking. Very x-rated. Started off with a dialling gone then ‘Please be 18’ then the voice started with ‘Oh hi!’. It’s the only part of their sets I can’t ID. Snippets of it have been used very cleverly as samples on this. A brilliant original remix and my second fav of Jon’s after his Electric Beach remix of Mozaics ‘Rays of the Rising Sun’. My big question is, what is the original vocal please??? Is it the intro to a track or just some vocal that was doing the rounds. Please can anyone shed some light please??? Could Jon himself help??? X

Believe it or not, BPM turned up about a year after Love Boutique had lost its edge- it was far too commercial by this time. For a couple of years it was the place to be, but it was past that by this time. Still a great night at the time though, but not the place it used to be...
