I always hate poster paints, they're such a weird medium to work with😭 gouache is more on the acrylic side, once it's fully dried it can't move. But with poster paints, it's always move?? I let it fully dried and it still moves..... Maybe a skill issue on my part 😭 also the color range are just.... Not my cup of tea.... But maybe my drawing style doesn't work with it (I draw portraits mainly). Glad it's working on this kind of style!! Maybe I should try again💖

@@minjia8198 hey there! I actually felt that way too while using these poster paints for the first time. But I realized it was because I was using hot pressed paper! When I changed to cold pressed paper, I found it easier (and even fun) to work with. I also use gouache (Holbein) and based on my experience, it's the one that moves even when dry and not these Nicker poster paints. 😳 It's fascinating how we all probably have different experiences with media! But there's acrylic gouache too which I found to be both workable while wet but permament when dry. Is that what you're using?

Hello there !! I wanted to learn painting any tips
@studiohandog3 күн бұрын
@@cherry7372 Hi Cherry! Based on my experience, learning values (dark tones, mid tones, highlights) and color theory helped me learn how to mix paint to achieve certain colors. Is there any specific type of paint (ex: watercolor, gouache) that you want to learn? Each medium behaves differently.

For the acrylic gouache you can best use a stay wet palette, while the acrylic gouache dries so quickly. That helps a lot and makes painting with the acrylic gouache immediately more fun😊

Oh wow. Can you recommend a stay wet palette brand? I haven't tried one. Thank you for the tip!
