Unlike Super Metroid, where you can wall jump infinitely with ease, Fusion, and Zero Mission automatically forces Samus to go in the other direction to prevent sequence breaking in either game if the player is skilled enough. IIRC, though, both games are strict on checks and prevents sequence-breaking altogether. To counter that, you need to hold the opposite direction after performing a wall jump to go back towards the wall you want to climb and repeat the process to chain them up walls. In this case, I needed to hold right since the game was pushing me toward the left. It can be somewhat finicky since it's possible for Samus to break out of her rotation and you'll fall back to the ground like I did in the clip.

Even though I knew Rottytops was fine since the spider never bit her on screen, I still felt jaded by the fact that I had to deal with 1-shot deaths for a few minutes on my first playthrough over someone truly "rotten" to the core xD

I didn't even know that water bouncing was a mechanic in the game until I grew up and saw speedruns of dkc3. Mainly because Rare never mentions it anywhere in the game itself iirc. Following the old tradition of teaching the player by feel rather than force like modern games follow.

If u follow the comment above, it will show u where the final ladder will be when jumping down from the cliff. Obviously, the instant death mechanic from the fall damage is still there and eagerly waiting for players to miss the ladder grab. I wonder if that's how the devil feels when he gains another soul in his collection? xD

The DLC happens later in the playthrough. I did an entire run of the base game to give me a high enough level to deal with everything in the DLC. As for yeeting, Gael, he jumps around enough in either phase that I don't need to do it since he'll do it himself xD

Thank God you can shell dodge in double dash to avoid the pain. It's somewhat tight, but possible to pull off. I think after double dash is when Nintendo changed how blue shells track the karts since they probably weren't happy players weren't getting set back to 8th after getting smacked by 2 reds and a blue all at once xD

If you haven't learned how to roar yet, walk next to the stegosaurus (I think that's the right name for the small dino enemies) as the baby t-rex and they'll teach you how to roar. After that you press x to roar on the xbox version like I was playing for the recording. Short tap = short roar, long tap/hold = long roar.

I believe that is possible provided you're drifting like I was in the short since it abuses the fact that u change angles quickly to avoid the blue shell tracking.

I try to keep the combos going, but things will eventually drop usually to a boss or the nearest pit.

I'm doing an SMZ3 randomizer so I can get items from either game as I progress. So I got space jump before gravity suit.

@GoofyDominoes While it's not a "true" nes game in the sense that it can run natively on actual hardware or emulation. It still embodies many of the styles and mechanics that were quite common back in those days. Jumps are locked and can't be controlled afterward. Knockback if set to veteran gives classic knockback which means you'll likely gravitate to the near pit and lose a character. In my case, I would lose a life since I was doing solo Zengetsu for this playthrough. Either way, it's definitely a well-done modern rendition of a classic 8-bit game with a banger OST.

Fair enough. I've gotten much better at Celeste since I did this playthrough and I'll have videos for Strawberry Jam later in the year. I'll likely be stopping around expert since things are becoming too frustrating to keep grinding away at levels with my current skill level.

Yeah, 5-C first room is problematic even if I get the corner boosts since you don't have much room around. The last room in 7-C before the crystal heart can get the hell out tho. I recall that room taking over an hour on my first attempt since I died in the last section with the dash crystals and spikes.

I'd definitely give Celeste a try once you're done with hollow knight. It's a difficult game once you start progressing further into B & C sides along with farewell, but it's a really satisfying game throughout the struggles.
