Hello I have the LMS3960, I'm looking to change motor, how did you mount that motor? Did you connect the spindle speed to Gecko g540?

Hey i hope you take it as a compliment, but im totally stealing your entire design bolt for bolt! Its the best one ive seen on yt. Im nearly done with mine. Question, is the metal screen/mesh welded to the rolled steel on both ends? Or how is it attached?

the roller frame is bolted together and the mesh is sandwiched between it, i would love to see pictures of yours!!! [email protected]

Nice swap, can't believe I didn't notice the video sooner. Hope all is well, if you still have the Jeep, how's the swap holding up? Do you by chance hang out on any Jeep swap forums and/or is there a way to pm you direct, tried the email link in the info section but it just links back to the channel(?) I would actually be willing to donate to the cause for some insight on the build, which only seems fair.

I know this is two years old at this point, but thank you for taking a true DIY approach to your build instead of the cookie cutter approach that many, many others have taken with their kits that often cost more than the machine itself. I commend you on that! With that said, I'd love a bit more information on.. well everything. Take what you have here and make it 3 times as long, with some step by step from design to execution, unforeseen challenges that arose during the build and how you got around them. A few questions.. 1. Has your 550w / 3/4hp motor been enough for you? I'm not sure how you have it geared.. I know you said the motor runs 4200pm, but does your mill as well (1:1 gearing)? 2. Any more details on why you did the Z the way your did? I don't want my ball screw off to the side, but have been considering mounting it where the factory rack is in front of the column or even milling a slot in the front of the column and putting it inside. The "wings" seem like they might cause some binding, especially with no other rail or locating feature added. 3. Do you ever get any binding from the dovetails or any misalignment on any axis? 4. How has the accuracy been with the Chinese ballscrews? Have you needed any compensation in the software? 5. Are you happy with the build overall and the choices of your components? Anything you'd do differently? --- I'm in the process right now of something similar. I have a manual 3990, but as things have gone on sale, I've also have picked up a column and base kit, the X/Y carriage, and Z carriage. I keep going back and forth on keeping the dovetails or milling them off for linear rails, at least for X and Y. Linear rails would allow for an easy extension of the Y axis, one of the main limits of these mini mills. I did a ton of deburring work on the new castings and put a new coat of paint on them as my plan is to move the parts on the current complete manual machine onto the new castings and then clean up thr old ones, and then use those for the CNC build, to ensure I have at least some milling capability while building.

Questions 1. The consew brushless sewing machine motor has been great, i also have use it on my lathe build with a 2:1 ratio. 2. The z axis screw was installed on the back just because it was a nice flat surface & it worked perfectly fine, if i was to do again I would put it on the side to save space. 3. No binding, but the gib’s being non tapered make them difficult to adjust. 4. Chinese ballscrews are great, might have been a bit of backlash to compensate for. 5. If i was to build one again I would do a fully enclosed router style to save space.

Variable speed drill is better. A solid axle and 2 rubber drive wheels. It really requires very little turning to do the job quickly. Slower means much less wear and damage

Really nice set up and I like the Idea that you still have the instruments and works with those 2 separate ecu s ! This has only heating or has also air conditioning ? It depends from Tj model ? Or you can put a Jetta on it if you want ? Last question : where someone can find the bracket between the engine and the transmission ? (The red one that you have) And also : what about the fuel pump ? It is the same an stock TJ ? Thank a lot !!! You have my dream car .. this is the proper engine in my opinion because it is really cheap to run it daily 😎

No AC, only heat. TD conversions makes the Red adapter plate, the injection pump draws fuel from the tank,

Your Correct the chain drive is too loud if you live in a subdivision, But we are on a farm. belt drive had the possibility of slipping and would have been more complicated to get the right ratio.

Looks to be a chain with matching sprockets driven by a corded drill somehow. Could you tell me what the bands are made of? Bike rims or metal welded to form a circle?
@bdrmfg
@bdrmfg 7 жыл бұрын
Bands are made from 2" x 1/8" steel flat bar, Rolled into a circle and welded together with roller chain welded to the outside. a corded drill is direct drive to one of the sprockets, the others are just idlers.
