I prefer the european game The Land of Pain. This is the Cthulhu games, in terms like lovecraftian cold, dark and isolated ambientation, most natural and realistic that I've watched.

This game shows too much and therefore takes the wind out of the lovecraftian horror which comes from the unknown, the hidden, the unfathombale.

Bloodborne shows all of their lovecraftian horrors and lets you kill them and its hailed as one of the best interpretations of the mythos

what do you mean, you only see Cthulhu a lesser great old one, a priest of Yog Sothoth for a split second not even letting you speak with him it just shows the ensuing chaos and madness from his presence, in my opinion that's exactly how Lovecraft would've wanted him to be represented in a video game.

@@pillarmenn1936 Another major theme of Lovecraft's cosmic horror is the idea that there are forces which are beyond Humanity's ability to control, and who are almost totally apathetic to our existence. Bloodborne's story revolved around the idea of people trying to utilize the blood of the old gods to elevate themselves in the universe, and having it backfire horrendously by turning them all into eldritch monsters.

@@Nyrufa You got something wrong there. The old ones in Bloodborne were not apathetic, not even close. Many of them actually helped humanity but because of the difference in thought process, it didn't go the way humans wanted it. Not only that, many of the old ones also show human-like emotion and feelings such as the yearning for children, jealousy of others (if the theory of Moon Presence wanting kids is true), and the willingness to help others (Kos granting the wish of the fishermen)

Why would it NIT be awesome being there watching fake "wrestlers" self mutilate themselves for a very very easy crowd reaction? Maybe they should try an actual wrestling school and learn how to WORK. Suspend the crowd disbelief, work some psychology and actually earn a crowd reaction has seemed to get lost under piles of trash. Garbage changer wrestling at its best

It looks like a whale in the game. That’s why I’m much of the intro, they talk about the Scylla finding “the whale”. And you can kinda see it here

@@gunther141 yeah, his size it's like a big whale. The only problem is when you find his body hidden in Black Watter, and because of the "madness effect", you can't full aim in his squid form and fully appreciate the alien.

Go into the water where his corpse is I dare you that s$%t freaked me out as someone who just got into the cthulhu mythos seeing leviathan and bravely diving into the water gave me a sense of insignificance seeing something so large I felt that at any moment it would snatch me up and devour me I swear this game gave me thallasophobia and megalophobia
