The hospitals are responsible themselves for this happening. How do they not own their own land and buildings? What were they doing with their profits all these years, obviously not reinvesting into taking ownership of the property they inhabited. Perfect examples are Boston University and MIT. You didn’t have to become a brain surgeon and lose all your commonsense. The answer isn’t to bail them out, because they are incapable of understanding what it means to own and operate. The answer is easy, but they are as greedy and guilty as the private equity companies.
