I enjoyed the history you provided of Thousand Oaks. I lived there in the 70"s and my parents opened the business Conejo Trophies. I believe today it's called Conejo Awards. I left TO in 1979 and joined the Navy. Today I live in Florida, but I still have fond memories of Thousand Oaks and Newbury Park.

some quintessential thousand oaks experiences: - driving 10 minutes to get to the nearest grocery store past a hundred other homes that look just like yours. - waiting at 15-20 long stoplights on moorpark road trying to go north or south through the city - going to the oaks mall to walk around as a teenager because the rest of the city is a road lined with brick walls and trees - nearly flying into a tree in the center divider while driving on lynn road - sitting in excruciating traffic trying to drive literally anywhere else with something interesting to do (ie. los angeles, ventura, santa barbara) - moving away to college and pondering your entire existence there

Nothing better than seeing a driving law being broken in a traffic PSA.
