I ended up being pretty shocked on the Black Widow Hybrid 2.0. I have NEVER had a ball die out as fast as this one did. Has maybe 40 games on it and went from a beautiful, crisp, snappy, hooking ball I played 22 to 19 on with a monster flush crush....to a weak, slow, fizzled out ball that I had to move to 18 to 15 (skinny angle) to hit flush in a mere 40 games (exactly). All my other balls have far more games on them and I still throw the same angles. The 2.0 fell from my #1 ball to the last in my arsenal. It seems most people have been having the same issues. My Ghost Widow that is now a year old still run sharp and crisp and I can throw it on the same lines after all this time.

Any tips for someone who just got into leagues and bowling?
@ksjlb2612
@ksjlb2612 Жыл бұрын
Honestly just try to have as much fun as possible. Most leagues I have seen all over the country are just for that purpose. After that, take advantage of any discounts or coupons you can to practice. Once you can throw and release a ball consistently then you can adjust appropriately. The basics are if the ball is missing left, move left and vice versa. There are books and videos on the basics of bowling, but if you prefer KZbin then look to bigger names that have instructional videos like the Brad and Kyle channel. Feel free to contact me any time. If you can post video of your practice sessions, I can help you too. Never lose your love for bowling!

Are you releasing that viz a ball the same as you would any strike ball or are you flattening it out? I just ordered that ball and I would love it if I can throw it at spares without changing my release.
@ksjlb2612

It depends on which side I am throwing. I have to flatten it out at the 6-10 pins. I can rotate the ball at the three pin or anything on the left side.

@@kill3stdayz910 With mine, I have to move a little more left and send it right. It all depends on your style and the lines you play, but that works for me. I do extend my target further down lane to try to minimize mistakes on jerking it left or having it break too soon as well.

@@ksjlb2612 I may have to stop in and get some work done on this ball I am using now. Last shop did some not-so-great drilling and tired of messing with. @ksjlb2612
@ksjlb2612 2 жыл бұрын
@@jasonsmith3537 you may need to decide what you want out of the ball as those two are polar opposites. The upside to the 2.0 is it is asymetric and will hook a ton. Some have had issues where they need to change the out of box surface to make it do what they want, but not too uncommon. The upside to the Purple is it is smooth and predictable. It is a two piece construction like the original Hammers of the eighties and nineties. Being urethane, it will try to grab early but will not have the backend punch of a reactive albeit this ball is far better than most modern balls. I actually average better with the Purple and the BW Urethane than I do reactive, but I learned to bowl in the urethane era. Some of those who complain about urethane may not really know how and when to use it, but that is a discussion for a different forum. I would purchase both if you have the means. Brunswick did apply for names of new urethanes, but it is hard to tell if they will come stateside or not. That would probably be a late winter release.

@@ksjlb2612 Yeah, I was watching the vid and you both seem to take the same line (ver close) and same amount of hook that I do.. I am a lefty but I don't use the entire lane to hook. I stay on about the 15th board early and have a very gradual hook and then at the back end it catches hard. I am rolling a plastic ball with just a puck in it and can overhook it really bad if I catch the dry stuff outside... I figure watching a ton of reviews on this Ghost and seeing a straighter line used on many that this one is in the neighborhood for me. I have a video up on my channel (recent) that shows the line I take. Sometimes I adjust of course but it is my base line. Tried bowling cross-lane last night and the plastic ball just can't cut back fast enough. My thing is, I don't throw very fast.....unless the chronometers are off at my lanes..
