Did you think that if you did not exists that there is no world? God created us that is why there is now a past present and future. Solipsism means there is really a Creator.

I can't begin to express how much this speaks to me now and makes my entire life of fear, anxiety and searching, a little less daunting and imaginary... to not be alone (or appear not to be) is something that will help me to move forward and study existence instead of living in turmoil. Thank you.

A PERFECT STORM: THE CRISIS OF MEANING IN A SICK SOCIETY-LIVING IN A WORLD WHERE “NOTHING REALLY MATTERS” " It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society."- Krishnamurti The human brain’s need for purpose and meaning is deeply rooted in its evolutionary development and neurological architecture. Purpose serves as a psychological and emotional anchor, providing coherence in an often chaotic and unpredictable world. The drive for meaning is closely tied to survival instincts-early humans sought patterns and narratives to understand their environment, predict outcomes, and navigate social dynamics. This drive is not merely a philosophical or existential longing but a biological necessity for mental health and stability. The Default Mode Network (DMN), a neural network activated during self-referential thinking, plays a crucial role in this process. It is responsible for autobiographical memory, future planning, and the construction of a coherent life narrative. When the brain lacks stable external structures, the DMN compensates by creating internal narratives. However, when societal and cultural narratives are fragmented or no longer accessible, the brain’s ability to generate a cohesive self-story is disrupted, leading to existential confusion, anxiety, and depression. In today’s world, this cognitive burden is compounded by societal and technological upheavals. The disruption of humanity’s innate drive for coherence and structure in a postmodern world, where unifying narratives are often rejected, has placed the brain’s DMN under unprecedented strain. Without stable frameworks to provide direction, the prefrontal cortex struggles to generate a cohesive sense of purpose, leaving individuals adrift in existential uncertainty. This disconnection between the brain's need for meaning and purpose and the destabilizing forces of modern society manifests in a range of concrete examples. One of the clearest signs is the rise in mental health disorders, particularly anxiety and depression. As external structures like community and family become more fragmented, many people are left without the frameworks necessary to guide them, resulting in overwhelming emotional distress. The World Health Organization has noted a significant increase in anxiety and depression globally, particularly among younger generations, often attributed to information overload, societal pressures, and the absence of clear collective goals. Alongside mental health crises, the increasing rates of burnout, depression, and suicide-especially among younger people-are stark reflections of the failure to find meaning in an increasingly fragmented world. The loss of stable, traditional structures such as religion, community, and family traditions, combined with the pressure to succeed in an individualistic, hyper-competitive society, has led many to feel lost and isolated. To cope with this existential confusion and emotional instability, many individuals turn to addiction, whether it be to substances, social media, or work. The crisis of meaning and purpose in the modern world is increasingly exacerbated by the rapid pace of globalization, climate change, migration crises, shifting power dynamics, and rising diversity. As societies become more interconnected, traditional identities and cultural narratives are eroding, leaving individuals with a sense of rootlessness and fragmentation. Globalization has led to the breakdown of local traditions and a flood of competing cultural narratives, creating a sense of dislocation. At the same time, the existential challenges posed by climate change, such as the moral reckoning of environmental destruction and the tension between short-term desires and long-term survival, have intensified the search for meaning. Mass migration, driven by war, economic disparity, and environmental collapse, has further complicated identity and belonging, as both migrants and host societies grapple with issues of dislocation and social cohesion. Meanwhile, the reconfiguration of global power structures, under the new world order, has left many feeling powerless in the face of geopolitical uncertainties. These behaviors often serve as coping mechanisms to fill the void left by a lack of clear purpose or meaning. The opioid crisis and the rising rates of substance abuse globally are symptomatic of a society that has lost its guiding narratives, leading people to numb existential pain or escape the uncertainty of life. Similarly, the growing prevalence of video game addiction, social media obsession, and an insatiable consumption of entertainment can also be understood as attempts to find temporary meaning or distraction in a world that feels increasingly chaotic. The breakdown of shared narratives has also led to profound societal divides. As traditional unifying stories such as national identity, shared cultural values, and collective goals are increasingly rejected, people retreat into ideological silos, contributing to the rise of polarization. Political divides, especially in countries like the United States, as well as the increasing separation between people based on cultural, religious, or ideological beliefs, reflect the loss of common ground. This fragmentation has made communication and understanding between different groups more difficult, and social media has only amplified these divides by creating "filter bubbles," where individuals are exposed only to viewpoints that reinforce their existing beliefs. The inability to find a shared purpose or vision for the future has fostered an environment where dialogue and cooperation are increasingly scarce. In a world that often views truth as relative and subjective, the rejection of traditional narratives has contributed to the rise of nihilism-the belief that life lacks inherent meaning or value. This existential crisis has led many, particularly younger generations, to experience feelings of emptiness and disillusionment, disconnected from any greater purpose. Nihilistic philosophies have gained popularity in media and entertainment, and phrases like "nothing really matters" have become more commonplace. This widespread disillusionment can manifest in apathy, disengagement from political or social issues, and a sense of futility about one’s place in the world. The absence of deeper purpose leaves many struggling to find motivation, reinforcing a sense of meaninglessness and despair. The search for meaning through material possessions or status symbols is another indicator of the failure to find deeper purpose in life. In a consumer-driven society, individuals often seek fulfillment through the acquisition of wealth, status, and possessions, only to find that these pursuits fail to satisfy deeper existential needs. Studies have consistently shown that material wealth does not correlate strongly with long-term happiness or fulfillment, suggesting that the pursuit of meaning through consumption is ultimately hollow and unsustainable. The growing obsession with acquiring goods and status is a reflection of society’s inability to provide enduring sources of meaning, leading many to chase fleeting markers of success in place of deeper, more enduring values. While technology offers numerous conveniences, it has also contributed to a sense of disconnection. The overwhelming presence of technology in daily life, particularly through social media and constant connectivity, creates a paradox where individuals are more connected than ever, yet often feel more isolated, anxious, and disconnected from deeper sources of meaning. The rise of social media anxiety, FOMO (fear of missing out), and technology addiction reflect how technology, instead of fostering genuine human connection or providing meaning, often exacerbates feelings of loneliness, inadequacy, and disconnection. The constant barrage of information and comparison can overwhelm the brain’s ability to find peace or stability, making it harder for people to locate authentic sources of purpose in a world that feels increasingly complex and fragmented. This growing disconnection between the brain's fundamental need for purpose and the destabilizing forces of modern society is evident in the mental health crises, addiction, materialism, and polarization that shape our contemporary world. The lack of coherent narratives leaves individuals struggling to maintain emotional well-being and a sense of direction, creating a profound challenge for both personal and societal flourishing.

It’s like the Piraha language. They have no words for numbers, and even when outsiders have tried to teach them anything to do with specific numbers/amounts, they haven’t been able to do it (and have no real interest in learning it). Cognitively, they’re ‘normal’, but because there is no language for it, they can’t understand it.

You can basically a therapist, therapist is someone who listens wholeheartedly to your problems. Good for you, you found a legit therapist but i dont trust them. At the end of the day. You, yourself is the only one who got your back 💯 . Some people love seeing other people's vulnerability Some therapist reminds me of a person who fell into a cliff. The therapist extends it's hand and you thought his trying to help you. But you didnt even know theres a ladder beside the therapist body but purposely didnt offer u the ladder. Just extends its hand to u, in hope u reach them.

Teapot is indeed a physical object but he is using that as a metaphor like How believing in God/religion is also a manmade, when u were born into this world, ur parents force you that religion. They nevery give us the choice to follow a certain religion but i always wonder, why there are civilization that has been lost, they are more incline to believe in God? Is it because they are more in tune with the natures than todays society? Or they want to fill in th blank that God is the answer for something they cannot explain? But nonetheless i believe in Goddess and Gods because i have experience an apparition.

Thank you for distinguishing western dualism from yin and yang. People often mistake the two. I wear the yin and yang to represent what you refer to here. Complementary opposites that are not at war, but harmony. Harm/evil and goodness are not necessarily ☯️ yin and yang. Harm/evil are distortions of shadow, not shadow itself.
