Fuck, Aaron's intro had me thinking I was listening to this at 1.5x speed, but you were really just being a mad lad.

Loved the episode but are you guys able to put an image or the title of the media you're reviewing in the thumbnail?
@mortifiedpod2 ай бұрын
thanks so much for listening! we're gonna do a little visual revamp at the end of this year so maybe instead of a 16x9 image i (leyla) will put together a little template so we can differentiate the thumbnail. thanks for the suggestion!

I would say that most of the critiques thrown at LMM are just due to the fact that he was overexposed in such a short amount of time. It's almost unheard of for a Broadway composer to go from being relatively known in the scene to being in a Lister overnight. Hollywood has a schizophrenic relationship with Broadway so him making musical that made over a billion dollars sort of made him a hot ticket and caused a resurgence of all these movie musicals they keep on making nowadays. I think the Hamilton criticism was always going to be there call my butt I think people overlook just how much a change Broadway for POC actors like myself. Everybody from that musical went on to become a star and it still sells out to this day. I even argue that a lot of the lessons that tried to teach are more relevant now than they were back then

I think you're right! There's a lot of valid criticism of Hamilton, but a lot of the hate for LMM I think is due to the fact that he got so popular so fast. Thank you for listening and seriously engaging with our show! -Aaron

@@mortifiedpod IMO, I think it becoming a phenomenon has made people forget why Hamilton was such a big deal at the time of its release. You never really saw something like that and it gave Miranda a unique presence in the scene that you still see today because where else can you find Busta rhymes crossing over with Billy Porter. I think there is a conversation that needs to be had about how society treats minorities that actually do make it into a reputable area of Fame. Also it was a pleasure, your podcast is very enjoyable

Spoiler: Joachim Mizrahi ended up being retconed as just kind of a messed up guy due to Shions cry bringing the Gnosis into our world 😑. Also the Kirschwasser scene was creepy AF. Sorry but the little copy Pinocchios creep me out kinda like the creepy pasta Barbies from Small Soldiers. Negredo us a pimp! Citrine is the 669 but I could be mistake it's been years. chaos and KOSMOS are introduced as being way to OP for the series but in battle they have to level up??? Jin and Margulis song was kinda catchy I guess. The Xenogears Zohar is an infinite energy source. The Xenosaga Zohar is UDOs eye into our reality or something like that. This game is such a mind f---.

I love how I've played these games multiple times and this is the first time I'm hearing about the Zohar being UDO's eye. Incredible games. 100/10 will likely play again. - Leyla

The slow, simmering rage behind the "uh-huh"s, "mm-hmm"s, and "*sure*"s that then explode into the "WHAT THE F---" when Leyla the Expert cannot explain the Jesus Batteries is just Aaron's villain origin story. And I cannot wait for this show to examine THAT narrative.

Not enough people are talking about this game. It's the most emotionally resonant game I've played since Night in the Woods. I've been listening to the soundtrack nonstop for like two weeks. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

We agree! Highly underrated game, definitely still thinking about it two days later. (And I, Leyla, am also obsessed with the soundtrack. The best vibes.) Thank you for listening!
