I also think that this is an overlooked, clever little game that has a pretty unique mechanic. In addition, the various levels allow you to play with a lighter game crowd or a group that enjoys something a little more complex. (Game 1 is fast and easy.) There is also a solo mode where YOU are the murderer, trying to throw the police off of your trail. In all, it's a worthwhile game with quality components and great artwork. (I may be a biased Gorey fan as well.)

A little late to the party. Thanks, Tom! This was well explained and helpful, especially since you didn't get sucked into the vortex of explaining the 5 different games! One little correction to add more complexity to the "Disguise” card: at the end of the game, the true identity can be chosen from any suspect tile that is not in the game tableau -- and that includes tiles in other players' hands as well as prime suspects and murder victims that had been removed in earlier rounds!! Woohoo!

If you have an Infected player, couldn't they try to start and end their turn on a Martial Law location when there is a revealed vampire to prevent being turned? They could still get turned during a riot, but the vampire player would have to skip doing much more useful things like getting two sympathy.

This was an especially relevant question for a world not too far removed from Hitler, and the Nazis death camps. That explanation being, that periodic violent fascism was one of the fundamental behaviors of our Martian creators, ho had genetically engineered early man from one of Earth’s even older primates. Being insectoid, the ancient Martians had a hive society. Non-conformity among members could not be tolerated for the efficiency, for the ‘good’, of the hive. Hence, the Martians would violently ‘cleanse’ their society of non-conformity via war, driven by periodic mass hysteria. Eliminating those within the society who didn’t conform. I find this idea to be interesting SciFi toward explaining the perplexing human propensity toward genocidal, violently fascist, mass-hysteria behavior. The tragic desire by many of us to eliminate those who don’t conform to some societal standard, either in their physical characteristics, or in their behavior, thinking or beliefs. To ‘cleanse’ society of non-conformity.
