I can't speak for actual SEALs, but I didn't work with anyone who wanted to keep their uniform onany longer than required. A quick stop to or from work, or a trip to AAFES, but going around in dress uniform outside of some mandatory event just wasn't done. This guy had an interesting approach to military bullshittery. I just don't see why a SEAL would be focused on such an involved weapons system. Here's a great way to describe military service: "the beatings will continue until morale improves".
