Wow!! I can’t manage the cold at all; it just started raining here a few minutes ago…and I love that because if it continues until tomorrow God’s willing, I know my barrels will have a good amount of water in them 😊 Stay warm & be blessed🙏🏽
Thanks for sharing, this is an incredible idea. Last year I tried something similar with some bottles but I think it’s more effective with the strips of cloth. I’m definitely going to try it your way. Thanks again & blessings 🙏🏽

Really want to collect rain water but don’t know where to get these barrels from. Any ideas??
@gladesgardengirl83283 күн бұрын
Hi Marykate, it’s so nice to have you here and I’m happy you’re thinking about storing rain water. I’m not sure what area you’re in but I would say check your local water treatment plant ; that’s where I’m getting mine. You’ll probably have to link up with someone there and have them save the drums for you. Before I met the person that is sourcing them for me I usually buy them from people for cheap…so try these options for a start. Have a great day 😊

Chives IS the easiest herb to grow! I just use the bottoms of the ones I get fromthe farmers market and they grow forever🤣🤣🤣Last year I got to see the beautiful flowers for the first time,even my mama couldnt believe it was chives. I also regrow my cabbages and lettuces from the farmer market and my cabbage gaved me 3 heads from the same plant! Be encouraged, this too shall pass! Watching from Brasil.

@gladesgardengirl83287 күн бұрын
Thank you for your feedback and kind comments & you’re absolutely right about the plants needing sunlight; but if you’re referring to the ones at the side of the house, I choose that spot because most of the plants there is plants that love the shade and a little sunlight. I use a lot of veggies and herbs because I stop eating meat over a year now so I have to plant a lot to serve me for the entire year 😊 All the best with your garden 😀

@gladesgardengirl83287 күн бұрын
Hi Susan, thank you for your feedback but I don’t worry too much about the snakes because I’ve only had one encounter in my almost five years of gardening. Stacking them in the blocks is safer for me and more long lasting. Putting the legs in the crates is a great idea as well. I might try that one of these days😊 Have a good night😊

Are you placing the seeds half inch in? how far down am eye aloud to go before the seed becomes stressed? Great video.
@gladesgardengirl83287 күн бұрын
Hi DotHackish, thanks for sharing this our question; however all seeds are not planted at the same depth. The bigger the seeds, the deeper I place them…for example: beans & corn I sow them about an inch and then the other seeds, it all depends on the size. Overall I’m comfortable with 1/2 inch for most of them and as the seedlings grow I’ll add more soil around them. I hope this response will help😊

So is it half water half milk or 1 part milk 5 parts water?
@Proverbs31woman427 күн бұрын
And btw this is a great way to use waste
@gladesgardengirl83287 күн бұрын
Thanks for stopping by friend and thanks for the question. I would say 1 part milk and 2 part water to prevent it from curdling, which will take longer to dissolve 😊

Oh my goodness, I’m so sorry to hear that…these pestilence is no joke. This evening I was outside doing some garden chores and what did I see…one big ole rat jumping out one of my containers 😆 Chile, I thought it was one of the stray cats🤣 It’s my first time seeing a rat that size…I wonder what’s attracting them…Lord have mercy I have to do something ASAP before they breed up in my garden. Anyways, all the best with your garden 🪴
