Thank you for your post. I have a general comment related to Cambridge Bibles. In June of 1963 I began training at Great Lakes Naval Training Center just south of Waukegan, Illinois. Within a week or so, I purchased a Cambridge Pitt Minion Bible at a Christian bookstore in Waukegan. Since that day, my Pitt Minion Bible has travelled back with me to Dallas, then to San Diego, cruised with me throughout the Pacific from Adak, Alaska to Midway Island, and south to Guam. After boarding my ship in Guam we patrolled the Marianas Islands, Bonin Islands including Iwo Jima and on to Yokohama, Japan. After returning to Guam, we patrolled the Caroline Islands and south to Rabaul, New Britain, then on to Sydney, Australia, Pago Samoa and back to Pearl Harbor. From Pearl Harbor we left enroute to Subic Bay, Philippines and from Subic Bay, we moved on to the coast of South Vietnam. We cruised from the DMZ of Vietnam then south along the coast south of Saigon, then into the Gulf of Thailand. While in the Gulf of Thailand we sailed to Phu Quoc island just south of Cambodia. After all these years my Pitt Minion bible remains in excellent condition.

Thank you for sharing this! As an Eastern Orthodox, I appreciate that some publishers release just the Deuterocanon as a standalone book. I hadn’t realized Cambridge did this for the NRSVue Deuterocanon. Unfortunately, this Cambridge edition is around $20, while Hendrickson offers the complete NRSVue with the Deuterocanon as a sewn hardcover Pew Bible for $15.

What does "Popular Text" mean? Is it some compromise or does mean added the missing critical text. Cambridge are very very lacking on information. They just number name with zero details on what XA, TA etc mean. I have figured out the A is for Apocrypha and R might mean reference or read letter, but what about X? What about text/font size? Do they really expect us to pay £100+ to find out the text is too small for ageing eyes. Are all versions 9 point text size as this one is? Sorry, I am very frustrated with Cambridge lack of information on these things, both on their website and online. I need 10 point or larger text.

RSV is not a Catholic bible... Divine mercy was condemned in 1959. These are tricks of the false Vatican 2 church. Stick with the Douay Rheims Sacred Scriptures which has Catholic annotations.

How can it be condemned? The prayer itself begs God to have mercy on the world for the sake of the Passion of Jesus. Be careful in condemning something that brings about the grace of God, especially mercy.

@@emily43210 The issue is not asking God for Mercy. The issue is Sr. Faustina's particular movement was condemned, as she had theologically dubious conditions for the mercy, had her diary on the index of forbidden books, and had no need of another 'mercy' devotion....as the Church explicity warned against devotions for which ones already existed... In this case, the very much approved "Sacred Heart of Jesus". Sr. Faustina's 'Divine Mercy' is a Vatican 2 religion construct...not approved by the Catholic Church.

It was briefly condemned due to A mistake in the Polish translation. Cardinal Wytojia who became Saint John Paul the 2 worked Extensively on the translation, of Saint Faustinas diary . He approved the devotion and canonized Saint Faustina As a Saint. Divine Mercy is a feast within the Catholic Church on the second Sunday of Easter so your earlier comments that this is not a Catholic devotion, are not factual

@michelleschoppe5390 it's on the Index of Forbidden Books. I know the false religion created at the 'second Vatican council' does not follow the Index, nor does it abide by a great many other Catholic teachings and disciplines...but it's on there. Pray the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

I think the review was very well presented, but with the lack of detail error, it was kindly corrected by yourself. Apart from that, it's a very useful review in the upcoming publication of this NRSVue with Apocrypha British Text. I thought the mention of the reader in content of bible by the Institute could have been compared apit more detail with the NRSV Anglicised version such as British text, for instance. Questions I have are that the NRSV uv and the Anglicised version have been updated from the 1989 edition (Preface/Reader by the publishers. Are there any big differences? But overall, I was very pleased with this review and kinda surprised I came across it while seeking an update review on the bible edition as there are a limited few available. So thank you.😊 Ps. Does the NRSVue with apocrypha british text Popular Split Calfskin cambridge come within content MAPS?

I don’t have the 1989 to compare it with, so I wouldn’t know. My bad. In regards to your first statement in the second paragraph, I am not sure if I was able to address that when I did the translation review of this one which I previously made with the hardback edition. Lastly, no maps. The content is the same with the hardback edition.
