Van Halen and ACDC were still going strong in 82 so i dont agree that rock was looking for a "new saviour". Pyromania was a monster album for sure but rock was still well represented in that time period.

It's a great album that I love & got to see them on tour in 83 but I'll admit High & Dry is still their masterpiece & really, I was kind of disappointed for a bit with Pyro when it came out 1. because they got rid of an important member.2. because the sound was not raw anymore, it was the most polished thing you ever heard. I got over that eventually. It's there 2nd best to me anyways.

It’s a shame that they play this kind of crap. Both Steve and Pete had problems, you didn’t see the band pull the cord on Steve. Pete was Def Leppard. He wrote the riffs and the solos and everyone knows that. Mutt was the worst thing that could ever happen to DL. Had there not been Mutt we would gotten another 4 or 5 High and Dry’s and for 90% of hard core Def Leppard fans, that would have been just fine.

2023- when I do the math it's mind-blowing that it's been more than 40 years since the release of this Masterpiece! I was maybe 13 when I first heard this. WOW! I was just Blown away. This is a CD that is always in the car and I still blast it today like I did all those years ago.
