I also had the RF100-400 before this. For me one stop of extra and slight improvement in sharpness felt worth it specially if you can find it used under $1200. The downside is weight and autofocus noise in video. Unfortunately i don't have the RF version to make a comparison.

I wouldn't suggest buying it new. Its better to go for RF100-500 or 200-800 for the new price. Although you may find refurbished or used copy. Do check the condition and return policy. amzn.to/3CxiMuU Also check MPB If they delivery to your location. and they offer 6 months warranty on used products.

Great option if you already have this lens. And maybe you can wait a bit for update R7 launch in the near future.

Thanks for your feedback. EFCS greatly reduces the shutter shock but its doesn't eliminate it completely. At really slow shutter speeds i use the electronic shutter anyways :)

The stabilization of this lens is amazing. Even handheld, you will get a few sharp shots if you fire a seq in electronic shutter. That's just one way to deal with slow F8 lens in bad light :)

@@kvppvk Maybe you need to learn what's called over processed. The lens is F8 on the long end and you call it "unrealistic background blur"? Stop being a keyboard warrior and try doing something useful. All the best.
