Back hurts bending all the time . Easy way ? Need knee pad to squat ? Weed right after rain?
@GardenContinuumINC4 ай бұрын
Easy way?😂 Weed a little bit frequently. Don’t let it build up. Weeds get big and roots get strong. Yes to all your ideas. Tools like a garden weasel and action how are also great!

Dear BLAQppl, This is NOT AT ALL what "deadheading" is -- but pruning (as demonstrated here) is also certainly an important step in daylily care.

Will the plant grow more flowers after dead heading?

Thanks for the video that was awesome the only thing I was wondering as well when is the best time to deadhead them specially with the bees all around them all the time

What does it mean if I have multiple central stems not growing, but the opposite stems are (with no blooms)? I have a salvia memorosa “Caradonna” in a pot. I had blooms, but not anymore. Went in to deadhead but this is what i see now.

This video doesn 't make clear WHERE on the plant to make the cut. In first example, she cuts below the double branching. In her next cut, she only cuts a single branch. Then the video speeds up and you actually can't tell where she's cutting for optimal results.

I watched so many instructional videos on gardening, and I have to say you just knocked this one out of the park! Clear presentation,, video focuses when needed to highlight key information. Just as I had a question for myself you answered it every time. As a teacher and instructional designer I'm frequently frustrated by the quality of instructional videos. Thank you so much for such a helpful tool.

Does this maybe convince the olant to flower again? I've heard that works with some other flowers
@moniqueallen29348 ай бұрын
No, bulbs bloom once a season. Ideally you will get a second year of bloom out of some of them. Daffodils naturalize better than Tulips. I can't get them to come back more than a year or two. You can fertilize after the the bloom or when they first start coming up. I don't find it helps mulch and feel very willing to simply add new bulbs every few years.

Best month to move, (Indiana), fertilizer needed, top soil or pH control needed. Fall transplant or not? Spacing at new location ? Shade tolerant or not?
@moniqueallen29348 ай бұрын
Generally I like to move them early in the growing season before the grasses have started to push up too much. That gives them the season to bounce back. They don't need a lot of amendments. They are fine in "thinner" soils. Maybe a little compost but go easy. They don't like rich soils.

will you still have the good growth in the first year? for example if the plant was growing close to 6 feet by dividing it will you get the same growth in the first year?
@moniqueallen2934 Жыл бұрын
The growth rate of the division will be slower for about a year or so. The dividing and digging out is a disruption that slows everything down. In short order they reacclimate and establish new roots and pick up the growth pace.

If you're looking to renovate a previously sheered yew, you'll have to "poke holes" in the tight canopy to allow light into the inner branching. The great thing about this plant is it will sprout new growth on old wood. It needs sunlight and adequate watering and soil fertility to do so. The pruning of these "holes" to allow light in gets the sun part handled. You can give additional water, and add compost to the soil for the rest.

i got a camillia i want to move, its too close to a rhododendron and they grow into each other, there is a perfect spot i want to prepare for it, the problem i know i will have is digging it up being that one side of it is near impossible to get too.. its a nice bush so i really want to save it, it tends to flower pink autumn early winter here in the UK. all i can do is watch more videos and try my best. But any tips would help. like what time of year would be best to move it.

Do your best to dig all around the plant. The more you avoid tearing at the roots the better for the plant. Water before you dig. That helps!

Informative from a presentation standpoint, but your camera guy seems to be elsewhere😅. Especially, When you describe where to cut/deadhead flower//stem of astilbe, he’s pointing it at you and everywhere, but where he should ( area of dead-heading you’re referring to).

You video is awesome, and very clear with great examples on how to do it right without ruining the new blooms! Thanks!! Going out to deadhead them now....
