Cheers Tom. Yeh I've toyed with the idea to run the 100k for next year. That sets off at 9pm and goes through the night. I'm not sure about the 100miler I'd love to but I think it's really hot that time of year. I love the trident 🔱 I think that's awesome and Justin who runs it is really nice. 100miler is a lot to ask. It's tempting as I love the route.

@@outinthesun Hi pal, thanks for the quick response. I just attempted the maverick jurassic ultra on saturday just gone. Went for the 101km and they stopped me at 56km because I reached the checkpoint slightly late. Do you have any advice , it was my first ultra, only prepared for 3 months. Tempted to do the one you did in may 2025. What are the cut offs like/ how long do you have to complete?

@@harnekmudher6287 well done dude. That's impressive. I was on carpark duty getting you lot in safely. I was in the orange omo jacket on the corner turning into the campsite. It's really hard to put all into text. To run that after 3 months is decent don't feel down it's a big ask and extremely hard. It's about building you training up to the point you are doing volume. What I mean with that is when doing these 100k. It's mimicking being out for long periods of time. Example building up to be running over 100k a week with it tapering few weeks before the event if you can. But by doing your long runs and then getting onto a bike to keep the hours you are active to help the body overcome fatigue. As you probably know having good kit that you will use and is light weight. Practicing fueling and running is key and to not spend too long in checkpoints, that adds loads of time over the event. If you are doing elevation like the Jurassic coast you need to incorporate elevation into your runs. I had a go at utmb Snowdonia the week before and the shoes fell apart. So good kit is key. Also point is foot care. These wet events and sweating it's common to get foot problems. So reading up on barrier cream to stop water absorbed into the skin. If you're feet get sore you can't run. If you look you can see me limping quite a bit. It's very very painful when it comes on. Hope this helps. All the comments help. Like and subscribe and giving me ideas helps to help everyone. Many thanks for reaching out. Hope it helps

@outinthesun
@outinthesun 3 ай бұрын
@@eddymercer6025 hi dude. My recommendation is try to run in 7 days well over 50k. Look at what you're max heart rate is and what your minimum heart rate is. Try to find a balance during training but make sure you get the distance in your legs. It's a very flat course. Pack light learn to eat and run. You will most likely burn 3k to 4k in calories so that's also a massive key factor. Fuel for distance. For that event I really only did 50k a week training. Few 10k runs and half marathons. But if you can id recommend more if you can find the time. Long and slow was my training

Hope it helps Also look at how many aid stops they. October isn't overly warm so you won't go through too much water. Hope you enjoy the run. Its a great introduction to longer distance. If you get a chance have a look at the runs I did in May. I went for distance and elevation.

@@mippieadventures Hi mate. No that's a Solomon vest. It's a Solomon s/lab 10. Very very light and breathable. More for short distance. But anything over half marathon if you are carrying kit, water In the front helps Ballance the pack out. I forgot my front water bottles on my Jurassic coast run and had the pack unbalanced for the 100k run, was really annoying, as the pack kept pulling back. Everything is different but depends on what suits you.

When you said you'd had blisters, you didn't say your trainers had given up the ghost! No wonder you had blisters with the state of them - Do you need to try another brand, those Hokas looked super-trashed? I'll be having a spare pair in my support crew box for my 54-miler in 2 weeks and I might have to stash some gaffer tape and zip-ties in my race vest, just in case that happens to me.

So I had a spare pair in my drop bag. But as you could see I just fell short. Also a key tip is to carry talc socks and regularly change them. I also recently bought a pair of Solomon speed cross 6 and completed Jurassic coast challenge 100k in them the week after on trashed feet. Still recovering from both races.

@outinthesun 6 ай бұрын
Hi dude. Switzerland has hundreds of thousands of bunkers. From what I've read from making that video it was law to build a new property and have a bunker part of the construction. I'm not overly sure about the old style house that you will see but they have had them built but it's not obvious. The entire country is littered with bunkers but it's a case of trying to contact or view ones that are open to the public. But maybe look on who to contact before visiting. I was lucky to have family in Switzerland. But they didn't have much further information than what I managed to present on. But domestic they have loads. Information is available on the government websites if you look. I wish you all the best. Let me know what you find. Adam
