I use A.C.T.S. prayer - adoration (abc's of who God is), confession (release what's blocking me), thanksgiving, and the supplication. It always feels good focusing and opening to God first. I don't always get to the S though which is typically not why I'm doing the prayer.

JESUS: "If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you." (John 15:19) Progressive "Christians": If we just show the world the real Jesus, they'll love him and his followers!

Just thinking about how we are no longer being accepted as Christians.. we're now experiencing what so many others in the world receive... china, Iran, Viet Nam.. I read the gospel is growing fastest, in ratio, in Iran! Where you go to jail or get killed for believing, for being Jesus' "apprentice" 😊 Welcome to Jesus' world 🙌🙌🙌

Jew's also practice The Way... Yeshua followed Torah... God's Word... remember He didn't have The New Covenant in written form. .. it's just that some religious leaders of his day placed heavy burden's on people. God sent his word to teach people how to live. We need rules. Most Jew's don't follow or know Yeshua/Jesus, but many are following him today. Many have embrased his way of applying God's Torah.

I am hoping someone will recognize the way of life as Jesus taught. In his last year, he had three classes and a fourth. The other 70 have come in recently. The first 70 had come from the missionary work of the twelve. Among the twelve are the beloved like John. Each has a script ahd notes from his lessons. Mark מערה is "preparatiion of the heart." We enter the outer court through a very wide entrance and we are "established." Mat'theou is more difficult to see. In matthew we expect to find Emanuel, God with us. We received the spirit of Jesus for salvation through the grace of his sacrifice and forgiveness. THE MIND is renewed with the holy ghost IN US. As far as i can see. All of this comes to use with Christ. We need to accept it. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. He says "be ye holy." Again, you believd, you receive, you confess...and your mind is changed. The last step is "the good part." Everything you read in John is possible. The gospel titles are from the first words and the subject. John without the "J" prefix translates as " the beginning of the response." The graces are "in the beginnkng was the Word. And the word was "with God." In Luke לוק we have the " latter part." With this, Christ is fully formed in you. The three become one, followed by a birth. (Sorry for typos. I am old, but i experienced the journey many years ago. Nothing has changed. I want to share the knowledge before it becomes lost. All 4 of these words are in Solomon's passage on the way of life.

Thank you both for this amazing teaching. It has brought me into a deeper relationship with Jesus and in turn I pray so with people. I have been a “Christian” for 34 years. This is truly one of the most transformative teachings I have ever listened to. I am not saying that to build either of you up, but to share how God has used you in my life to draw me closer to being like Him. Thank you.

Amazing that I just discovered you less than 24 hours ago! I happened to be on Amazon looking for a new Matt Chandler book and your new book came up as a “you might also like” suggestion. And then I went down the John Mark Comer rabbit hole. Watched a YT video, listened to the first 2 podcast episodes about this book. Man. Your speaking style resonates with me. I know your writing style will as well. Ordered your last 3 books. Looking forward to them!

Is there something else we can do instead of fasting for if we cannot fast for medical reasons?

I was not expecting to feel so drawn to this conversation, however we know God leads us to more knowledge and truth in His way❤🙏 Praise God for conversations like these. First, and it's almost laughable because I have envied a monk type living in the past ((however your conclusions around this absolutely make sense)). Yet, I would love to be apart of a community with a Rule of Life like this.. A lot of the practices Andy shared I feel like God has already called me to in my own life. However to be a part of a group like this.. that is a room full of wisdom to be gleaned from, from those who also are intentional in deepening discipleship with Christ, sounds wonderful. The social media interlude of the conversation is so compelling as well. Praying for You and Andy, and please let me know if there are any openings Lol🌟🕊 God bless you and keep sharing the light!

I volunteered with a youth group who go to children's hospitals with their guitars and singers front the church band... sing kids favourite songs and hand out donated toys Gotta say after just 3 visits I grew more as a person and a christian than a year of sundays and bible studies ..I got a birthday card from a 11 year old dying of cancer you know that's where jesus really lives once that happens to you ..I think we can lose our way with so much availably in church and utube videos we can forget what is is we are called to to do.

Wow. Salvation/liberation/restoration of the spirit and salvation/liberation/restoration of the soul are two different matters... Only the Resurrected Life of Christ Jesus within a Christian can live the Christian life, and practicing conscious awareness of Christ Jesus' presence within us is where He grafts His nature unto our soul's inner nature, which is inherently at enmity with God. In other words, salvation/ liberation/restoration of the soul is a process of Exchanging our soulish self life for His Resurrected Life within us.

Thank you so much for this conversation. Hearing that out of 30 minutes of contemplative prayer there may only be 30 seconds of connection because of our minds darting... this is so encouraging, because you've been practicing this longer than I have. Now I understand my experience is normal and I'm encouraged to persevere. Thanks for the examples of what works in your lives, for us to try.

Basically nothing has a finish line and always trust and praise In God as he gave you life and will continue to carry you through life as long as you trust him but you also need to have a relationship with God, not just hope that he’s there.

I "got saved" when I was 16, by myself in my mom's living room. I had no idea what was next. I'd watch Billy Graham crusades and tons of people got saved. No one ever said....Okay, now do this. We have altar calls and people all over turn their hearts over to Jesus. And we rejoice for them! Of course we do! But no one teaches them to follow Jesus!! I'm 70 years old now and have been searching since I was 16 for the "Now What? Oh my goodness, I think I finally found it!!

Thank you - I am interested in Christian scripture - but I do not know what Christians are talking about when they name “Jesus”. I gather that the name originally used in these scriptures was Joshua and that the name Jesus was of Greek origin. Any case I truly believe that Christian scripture says to follow the way of Jesus - not to believe in him - and that Jesus was essentially not religious - that it is about the living waters of the Spirit as spoken about in the parable of the well. That is why I found this video given that the speakers are talking about following the way of Jesus. But I don’t get this idea of devotion to this figure who was apparently a person who lived more than 2,000 years ago. I don’t think it is about following any particular person, whether Jesus, Gautama Buddha, Mohammed, and more, but is about embodying the teaching. I have my practices and find nuggets of truth in scripture.

The Bible speaks about Jesus being a person to follow and a way to reach God. Also that He is God and died and was raised from the dead. Lastly, that through the Holy Spirit (the third part of God) Jesus lives in the hearts of Christians as a physical presence. Jesus also said whoever believed in Him would have eternal life.
@billgoedecke22654 ай бұрын
@@W0nderer Oh to each his own. For me I need the living faith as Jesus spoke about in the Parable by the Well. And in the words of Jesus when he says that we are the light of the world. For me much of scripture is allegory as Paul alludes to for at least one instance (Galatians 4:21-26).
