Reminds me of Greek pediment dentals 😄 imagine if you did the letters like pillars and then backlit them

I notice his carving hand is not on placed on the carving, so he has nothing to prevent it slipping? Better to have a carving knife we can use while resting the palm on the wood, like a writing.

Ciao, siccome non parlo inglese , non ho capito per quale motivo il filo deve avere quella forma piuttosto che una forma dritta?
@WoodBernCarvings4 күн бұрын
The knife needs a bullet shape because we are inserting and pushing the knife into the wood. If it has a straight shape, the tip of the knife is going to be so thin, that even with the proper technique, the tip will either bend or break. The bullet shape provides a thicker blade at the tip and therefore much more strength when carving. It will avoid the tip of the knife to break or bend.

Absolutley stunning! Care to share how you keep the wood from splitting on such deep cuts?
@WoodBernCarvings3 ай бұрын
Thanks! This wood is tricky to carve. I was making cuts until I felt it was going to split, then carve from the other side before finishing the first cut. Few mistakes happened but nothing that couldn’t be fixed.
