Hi guys. My father has the same problem of hot start. He tried to add an additional plate that change the position of the piston but it didn't solve it. What's the reference of this mercedes pump ?

Hi It seems you know a lot about diesel pumps for the Nissan Patrol rd28ti - much more than me and I have had a problem with my y61 rd28. Hoping you might be able to help. The car drives unevenly and starts jerking between 1100 and 1600 rpm at a steady speed - more and more until you have to let go the gas again. Do you have any idea what the cause may be? @@matthubeer4752 Hi, it starts ok. I know what the issue is - I did compression test: approximately 20 bar on all 6 cylinders - it should be 30 bar. Then I did leak test and found intake valves were not closing as they should. The engine has hydraulic lifters so I will start changing those if that does not solve it I need to take the cylinder head off and examine further.

Before you dismantle the whole engine, I would try half a liter of ATF

Yes. The ATF is agressive and clean the engine from the inside. you can fill it in and drive a few hundred kilometers and then drain all the oil and fill in new engine oil in. Just as a question: What kind of oil do you use?

@@neometalx9 yes. It's been on for a while now and it runs great. A bit more diesel usage but great response. I recommend it without a doubt.

@@miguelmontero2421 was it a direct fit or you had to combine both pump components for it to work? Was your GQ mechanical pump bought new or secondhand? I'm new with this vehicle, actually had it for a while but was barely driven but now trying to get it run as good as possible, currently it runs good but it's painfully slow that it even feels like it's on limp mode... Almost no black smoke under acceleration, so i was thinking about the injection pump but realized it's electronic one and my mechanic told me those are hard to deal with, not sure.

@@neometalx9 direct fit straight out from an old GQ blown engine that I bought. I purchased the GQ accelerator cable, modified the accelerator pedal to work with it and ran the new electric wiring to allow the car to start/shut off. Got the RPM signal out of the original crank sensor and redid the RPM harness from the GU pump and it works perfectly.

i know by the LD28 its possible that u can use a mercedes injection pump, this one is a RD28 i bet this could also be a mercedes injection pump

clutch is toated change that shit,i know exactly what that is the clucth is loose and it doenst granb properly put a stronger clutch on that patrol so you can use the fucking power you have otherwise its useles to have big power if you cant put it to the wheels.

I change to exedy one, but it's no performance one or anything of that, it matches the stock oem one... working well so far. my flywheel was burned as well, dual mass flywheel had to be fused and turned into one mass.... dual mass fails pretty easily.
