There’s a model of the G4 made by someone somewhere, because the G4 and G3 are so similar you could renumber the G4 and change out it’s tender and turn it into a G3. If I ever get my hands on one that’s what I’m doing.

I'm impressed and the whistle is robust. I was not aware of a "silver set" 1. Is there others that are not silver or another metal? Gold? 2. Do you know the year this set was made? 3. Do you know if the set uses the Lionel Pull-more motors, or another kind? 4. And does the engine have Lionel's Magne-traction or traction tires? Thank you for your presentation and the side by side comparison to the Lionel. I'm looking forward to future reviews. 🙂

1: The “silver” set as i mentioned in the video is in reference to the color of the box, its a silver-gray as opposed to a normal red box that you will commonly find Williams trains in. 2: Im not too certain on the year in which the set was released, sometime between 1995-2010 if i had to guess. 3: this set has a can motor which is runs smoother and has less current draw compared to the lionel Pullmor. 4: it has traction tires, not sure if williams redid magnetraction considering traction tires are cheaper and in my opinion offer better traction. @@MasonRascona Thank you. I forgot to mention that I prefer the realism (especially the silver railing) in the Williams loco above the Lionel, and I'm an ardent fan of Lionel. 🙂

It is easy to find a 6037 Caboose and 3474 Operating Boxcar for replacement online

The rest of the story. They must have made a lot of the three basic cars 6032, 6035 and 6037. This set is an upgrade from the 1952 set 1465 with the 2-4-2 2034 engine ,no smoke, no magnatraction . Also, the 1953 set 1501S includes the same cars with a 2-6-4 2026 engine, smoke no magnatraction, Just add the 2-6-4 2037 with smoke and magnatraction and the 3474 Operating boxcar

A great set to have! The 6464100 orange boxcar with blue feather can be worth some big money depending on what body type it has. They are so much I have 2 custom painted ones by Nostalgia Train Works that I bought for $10 a peice at a train show! I have the Maroon top EL trainmaster myself.

The 2037 was a good mid range steam loco. Good puller but not fancy as it only had the side rods. Very few of those came with a whistle tender. Your 6457 caboose was the top of the line caboose and would have come in the more expensive sets. It should also have ladders on each end. The 6017 being the lower end caboose and would have came with this set. . Your tank car has scout trucks but had magnetic couplers. Not uncommon.
