He's a baby prob only few weeks old . About 1 inch so he's in a large nester box in the 55 till he's bigger , then he will have a large gummy pig type cave to go in . First one ever had it is spotted I'm use to pleco but went this way

Go try put your flowerhorn with just 1 tank mate and see! Even an pair up couple will fight eventually! Ask any flowerhorn breeder. Id say put only 2 max in a 75gal minimum sized tank.... a male and female pair. If no pair, only one in a 55gal minimum sized tank. No communities mixed with EBJD. *Do water changes WEEKLY!!!* Once a week!!! Also feed sparingly, every other day or so, if need be. Maybe only feed frozen brine and mysis. Thats how i figure youd have the best chances at keeping them alive as long as possible. _Clean water, clean digestive tracts._ Healthy conditions for healthy fish.

Recently I bought hornwort not knowing it was hornwort. Essentially they killed my water sprites which were doing so lovely in my tank. Broke my heart because water sprites are the only plants which never gave me up or let me down nor they ever desert me. But the hornwort is doing beautifully though with some cabombas which are holding their own. My aquarium looks like a mini Sargasso sea and I'm loving it. 🥰🥰🥰

If anyone here has a compost bin you can also compost duckweed, most of my duckweed that doesn’t get eaten by my fish or sold to people end up in my compost bin. Also once collected, uncontaminated duckweed also has the potential to be fuel for our homes and our stomachs. Dry it out, compact it into a pellet, and you have a biofuel that can be burned or further converted into renewable biogas, ethanol, or gasoline. But whatever you do, no not! I repeat, Do not flush or release duckweed into lakes,rivers,streams,or ponds! The stuff is invasive and even if you have a man made pond in your yard it could still make its ways into other water ways rather it be by bad weather or if a bird decides to take a dip in your pond and flys off covered in duckweed and the duckweed gets into another body of water.
