Did you shot at iso800,then push to1600?how about sunny day for this setting?
@AbdullahChakmakchi
@AbdullahChakmakchi Ай бұрын
Yes I always shoot at 800 before pushing it at 1600. Even on Sunday days while doing street. If it’s not Street Photography then I set it at 200 and develop like normal. I always try and overexpose the film by a stop just to be safe.

The location you are in is amazing there are so many public urban spaces, not to mention the effortless public transportation to get there. Here in the USA there are very very few public urban spaces like that where you will see people walking and gathering. Usually that's only in the capital cities and even then there's usually roads and cars everywhere. You have to get there by car and find a place to park. In my hometown there are zero spaces like that. I would have to drive over an hour to the capital city to find something even remotely similar.

That's really interesting. People don't realise how big America actually is and how long it takes to travel to a big city from your smaller towns. I think that can be big for most cities around the world. The UK is very small compared to everywhere else in the world. Thanks for sharing that information that is really interesting.

A lot of good shots for one day there. A few too many near misses too, with two bikes and a step nearly taking you out! Going to be watching out for the night shoot now, just to find out if you get through it uninjured.

Ricoh GR is a amazing camera, I shot here at night with a GR 2 about the same time, sadly my Ricoh is in need of a rebuild to bring it back to life, which is on my to do list.
@AbdullahChakmakchi
@AbdullahChakmakchi 11 ай бұрын
I'm not a big fan of it at night it's so slow for what I do. I have to shoot completely differently with the GR at night. But I do miss that camera as it is so small.

I shot on London with the Q this year. Covered all the branding in Black electric tape, so stealth and under the radar. Soho at night was a highlight, street photography master tool🥳

I live in a town of 10,000 people and street photography is challenging 1) usually not enough flow of people 2) everyone knows everyone, if you post a photo on social people recognize themselves. The best opportunities are festivals and events like farmer's market but even then locals have complained about being gold fish in bowl, there are maybe 3 active street photographers in town and people notice us photographing at each festival etc. On the positive side, some people will enjoy seeing the photos of people they know
@AbdullahChakmakchi
@AbdullahChakmakchi Жыл бұрын
Totally agree it's very challenging. But still very rewarding because you are capturing history. I tend to go to different cities and towns just to mix it up and go to places where people don't know me.

@AbdullahChakmakchi
@AbdullahChakmakchi Жыл бұрын
That's London full of characters. A lot of street photographers like to use 50mm and more to isolate the subjects and not get as close. I prefer to get close like you are in the scene and the wider focal length tells for a story on what the surroundings are with the subject

You rate your film at 200 asa instead of the 400 on the box, is this so you can still use f8-f11, zone focus, and have a fast shutter speed? I noticed you also rated kodak ektar 100 at 50 asa in another video on another a sunny day. Just wondering why and if I should try the same!
@AbdullahChakmakchi
@AbdullahChakmakchi Жыл бұрын
It's because the film handles over exposure. It's like underexposing with digital it is the opposite of film. I still develop the film normally it just lets the meter on the camera to over expose.

Are you able to re-frame with this camera? You know by half pressing the shutter button to have AF lock or does it focus only when you press the shutter button all the way?

I’m glad you love your Minolta 28mm f2.8 lens. This lens is not for me. I only use crop sensor bodies. I have no interest in full frame cameras. I seek a small and light setup. I like autofocus which this lens won’t do. I do sometimes zone focus. The focal length on a full frame body is too wide for me, like the Ricoh GRIii. On APSC the 28mm lens becomes 42mm and M43 56mm. These are usable focal lengths for me. As you point out, the shutter noise is loud. Not a good attribute for a street photography lens. How much would one have to spend in order to purchase this lens? As I use small bodies I look for small lenses. How large is the lens? This looks like a nice manual lens to use with your Sony full frame body. For my use case I wouldn’t want to purchase it. To be fair, I don’t have any manual focus lenses. I hope other photographers will find your lens interesting. Mask On Nurse Marty

Hello, very good video, recently I have a similar camera and I am anxious to try it, I could notice that you obtained 37 photographs of the roll, even so considering that when the roll is inserted you have to pull the handle 3 times so that the indicator is put on 1, right?
