I'd be interested... well, actually, I AM interested in who and how a water weird can be placed (summoned) to the Prime Material Plane. Got any info or lore on that? Thanks a sopping bunch in advance! BTW... new sub!
@DungeonDeepDive3 ай бұрын
There are no actually specifics on the summoning of a water weird except that it has to be done by a spell caster so how I would say it works is since the weird can not leave a body of water, something cool could be that maybe there is a item like a gem similar to a normal elemental that held the weird and when it hits the body of water it connects and bind to it or maybe something simple like a planer binding or gate spell combined with a dominate monster spell binding the creature to the area. :) appreciate the sub! :)
@travelwell80983 ай бұрын
@@DungeonDeepDive Hi...thanks for the response. I like the idea of gem... I was thinking more of a vessel... like a magical urn or something..... kind of like a djinn bottle. Its a fun idea to play with. Thanks again for the response and the idea!!

The Water Weirds are very dangerous and rarely encountered which makes the problem twice as hard. They were in the original monster manual. Most attacks just disrupt it for a couple rounds. I had them as guards in the underwater section of my frog temple. Had to take them out because the party really was only 1% likely to have the means of destroying them. They could be banished.

The city of Lothmor (in my homebrew campaign) is absolutely over run by Flumph. Except in my world they are genetically modified to be clear / light refractors... so they are basically invisible (i describe it like the Predator camoflauge) So the city is filled with invisible telepathic beings. I role play them like Minions. They currently serve a powerful Warlock named Rumor.

One thing that always bugged me about the kuo-toa was that all through 1e and 2e, they were described as hating humans specifically, as if their exile to the depths was exclusively humans' fault. Nothing about them holding similar grudges against whichever sea race(s) booted them out of the oceans, nothing about the existing subterranean races' treating them like crap, nothing about them blaming their own lousy leaders for failing them: it was all humans' fault. Later editions fixed that slightly, but it's still weird that they would still bother to hate humans considering how many others have screwed them over, since.
@DungeonDeepDive5 ай бұрын
Yeah I agree haha I feel they would have a. Bigger grudge with other races from the underdark than the humans 😂

Let's say very nasty Orc gets bitten by werebear and rejects the good nature. Since werebears are good aligned creatures, how would his nightly escapes go?
@DungeonDeepDive6 ай бұрын
I would just do something fun like on the night of the full moons light the Orc would transform and go out and make the local villagers some lovely pies. This would then develop into a village myth that every full moon a strange creature Comes to town and treats the kids and families to amazingly baked pies and no one even the Orc knows who it is

Great video, this makes me want to use this dragon in a future campaign. I like the idea of the party being tasked to slay a white dragon but when they go to the dragon's lair they discover the villagers mistook a crystal dragon for a white dragon and now the party has to decide if they attack the friendly dragon anyway, or if they go back to try and reason with the villagers.

I’ve realised I never really gave a Christmas themed example for these little murder hobos so I’ll write one here. If you wanted to run a Christmas themed one shot you could maybe have it be that the gnomes that help Santa with the presents become infected with a strange feywild virus that turns most of them into redcaps and start a murder spree through the North Pole killing everything in sight and budding all over the place! And Santa tasks you and your party to find the source of this strange virus and help find a solution and save Christmas! Enjoy!
