Half way through the season - some of your predictions are looking pretty accurate, a couple of teams - Bruins and Rangers mostly, have been disappointing. Good video.

Jack Edwards was the GOAT!! If you’re a Bruins fan that is. Feels like everyone loves Andy Brinkley though, he’s got so much Hockey IQ. I don’t mind some homer commentary, it adds a nice personal touch to local broadcasts. National broadcast bias? Now THAT is annoying. Side note- my favorite non-local broadcast is definitely the Blue Jackets’ crew. Those guys have such great energy and they sound so hyped to be at Nationwide Area!

We had the Fog Devils when I was your age, only 3 seasons, but St. John's and the metro area has changed and grown so much. Hope it works out for the crowd back home, because crowds in Bathurst and even Saint John are sad. We have the Wildcats here in Moncton, looking forward to having a St. John's team come here so I can wear my Growlers and Ice Caps jersey. James Melindy played for the Wildcats. I bought a 2011 team autographed jersey and was surprised to see his name.

I will REPEAT MY MESSEGE TO YOU ONE LAST TIME so it can be sealed into your frontal lobe. It would be super expensive to have a team in NFLD due to transportation costs only accessible year round by an Bombardier Dash 8/ Boeing 737-MAX. Tickets range from $500 to a whopping $3000 CAD a person per way. Nobody except a snobbish dummy can afford it. On top of it all, you need a PASSPORT for air travel and a rental bus to transport players to and from the city origin. You also need bureaucratic permits and a name change that will cost a MINIMUM of $500,000 CAD. The reason there's no leagues or teams in your "colony" is because of travel expenses and a rurally isolated inactive market to the rest of us. 450,000 residents compared to 2.5 million residents in Maritimes and Quebec's 9 million. @@TravisDawe-be3rqwell sir. Under the CHL, only NINE provinces and 3 leagues are registered. WHL, OHL, and QMJHL. There is no team or league for NFLD. As I told Drew in his other comment section and will tell you in a reality manner, it would cost a very high amount of money in both transportation and bureaucrats for a remote jurisdiction to have a team or league in NFLD. There is no direct link by bridge or tunnel so therefore all the teams would have to take an airplane. Obviously the coach bus cannot fly over the 600 plus kms of ocean to get there so a shuttle would have to be provided. I believe last year you lost a hockey team to the Americans due to league bylaw violations as well as costly transportation to and from NFLD and in the past, two other teams under the same league between the mid 2000s to 2023. We here in the Maritimes have never lost one or gone bankrupt like NFLD has because we are an easy and accessible year round region to travel across. Also speaking of Maritimes, the name (if NFLD was admitted) would be changed to something ridiculous like Quebec Atlantic Major Junior Hockey which would be costly and disgusting. I hope you understand this and if you’d like, you could move to the Maritimes instead if you want to enjoy our national sport.

I remember the Herder was at Mile One/MBC as well. Didn't go to any of the games but I do remember it was hard to get a ticket for the 7 game series. It'll be interesting to see if Senior Hockey and Junior hockey will be more popular than ever. Its clear that we are probably never going to get a Pro Team anymore and this is the best its going to get unless a miracle happens. I'll be there for a few games for sure. Whats going to be neat is that we will be able to see the 'home' games and then go to their 'road' games as well at the other arenas like CBS Arena or Jack Byrne Arena in Torbay. I hope we get a similar vibe at MBC as we seen during the Growlers for like things like concessions and bars being open and of course Mary Browns selling food there too. I might even catch a basketball game for the first time too as I saw my first NBA game back in March in Orlando and I had a blast, and I am not even a basketball fan at all! I actually wore my Growlers t-shirt there and a lot of fans loved the fact I had it on as some people were Solar Bears fans.

It's such a shame what happened with the Growlers, even though I'm a Cyclones fan I watched quite a few of their games over the years since they were usually the only hockey game going on at 5.30 ET on a Friday. Definitely feel for their fans, hoping a team comes back to St. John's Also one concession stand in the entire place is crazy, even for a capacity of 1500
