Good hunt BUT absolutely no reason to shoot hens unless an accident. Read the Delta waterfowl article on hen to drake mallard ratio !!!

Alberta has more then just pea and barley. Corn, lentils, potatoes are also common crops in the south that many hunters have great success on. A out the only crop we don't have is rice. And sadly, there is a lot of that useless canola.

Hi Josh. New subscriber here. It's been 30 years since I owned, trained, and hunted a lab. Back then I read most of the books on retriever training...Free, Wolters, Milner, etc.. In Wolters book, Water Dog, he was adamant that a pup should be separated from its mother and littermates on the 49 day. Do you recommend this 7 week date, and if not, why not? Also, at what age do you start basic obedience training (sit, stay, heel, etc.)? I'm asking these questions because I'm ready to get another pup. I may never duck hunt like I did back then, but plan on training my dog as if he will be my hunting partner. Thank you.

I love this! I've always believed that dogs require more than leisurely strolls around the block and lounging on a couch to be truly fulfilled, they need engaging tasks and purposeful activities. Dogs were originally domesticated for work but many have evolved into sedentary, overweight pets. A working dog is always a happy dog ❤🐾

you people who are lucky to be right handed and right eye dominant have no idea how hard it would be to change from right to left so stop telling people to make the change as it could take years to make that change so just tell the people to keep both eyes open.

The best thing about your videos is that they are "warts and all" we're allowed to see the real-life issues that occur during training and the steps you take to rectify them so that we can learn. Most of us our here to learn and very often we're trying to resolve some challenges we have, so there's very little benefit is seeing highly trained dogs going through their paces. In fact it can be quite disheartening, you start to wonder if you're the only one with the challenge. Just your comment "this happens to everyone of us" does so much to reassure. This is the hallmark of a great teacher, thank you

Énjoyed uour video as one who truly loved working ducks into a spread. I appreciate your teaching younger or novice hunters. The correct way to use a duck call. I found words like gueet, gueet. Duga duga duga for a feed cakl etc. Always the air coming from my diaphragm. Using my hand to work the call also. That seemed to help me truly sound like a Mallard Hen. As well as the fact that i had my own Mallards / Call ducks in my 3/4 acre hobby farm. Hence i would spend alot of time in my teen years calling to my own birds. Then watching their responses. Calling and working ducks into my 20 yd hole in my spread whilst hunting. That was truly the best part of being out in the duck blind. 💪🏻🙏🏻✨
