Dude as a DRK that joined during EndWalker this depresses me a bit. Like so many of these abilities would be perfect to add back in to give DRK some character again and tie some of them to MP consumption or have a mode shift with one mode focus on healing/defence and the other focus on MP Regen/damage output. A lot of the abilities in this vid seem like they can easily be added and be worked into that kind of an idea.

I miss power slash always reminded me of Guts’s arm cannon. It really showed how the job was inspired by berserk. I always liked the dark arts animation. Blood price also seemed the heart of the job with the idea that pain brings power. The blood price+dark arts+spamming abyssal drain gave the job crazy survivability with mobs.

Today is the 25th of June, 2024. We shall be adding Plunge to this list by the time tomorrow hits... at least, in PvE? We might still have it in PvP, hopefully.

Add Plunge and Blood Weapon to the list. RIP. :(

Overpower like that was used till everything else.was switched from a cone to a circle aoe and the animation was actually sped up at some point before that

Power slash has the rawest fuckin' animation ever, very sad that it wasn't reused for something else.

I havent given the dark knight enough of a chance since I main pld & white mage is my healer main that have kept me quite busy.

Fun Fact on Skull Sunder: its animation was context dependent. Not the character animation but the effect animation. It changed depending on the ground type you were on. If you were on grass it kicked up grass blades. If you were in snow, it kicked up a snow dust cloud.

It’s insane that we’ll never get to see Power Slash again. What a baller ass move.
