Depends on what you want to do. They are prop drive only and they are going to get worse gas mileage. I have a Yamaha and my parents boat is a Mercruiser 5.0 MPI they spend about twice what I do on fuel. I would suspect that this boat gets similar fuel economy to my Yamaha. You also cannot surf behind a stern drive boat. They claim that they need more water to run in, but that is really only true while moving on plain. If you attempt to idle through shallow water where a stern drive will bottom out you are going to suck up all kind of dirt and damage your jet drive and impeller.

I love the side profile of this boat. The only thing I don't like is the dashboard and controls. I would have made it look more sports car like. And that latch on the head, I would remove that completely so a person couldn't get locked in there by accident.

Hi Michael - The 297 SSX is only available with a single engine. The next size up is the 317 SSX, which is offered with twins.
