Wow. This in-depth tutorial is exactly what i was asking for. I am not japanese but i would like a kimono to wear around my home because it just seems comfy and i like the looks. I think that i can make one thanks to your video, which is very in-depth although i feel like it has to be watched a few times before i actually get everything right in my head. Thank you ! I also love your homemade (youtube subs call it a "howdy") blue garment. If you ever feel inspired to share how you made it i would be happy to hear from you ! Thanks again and bravo.

I struggle to understand why the width of the body panel is 1/2 yuki when you only seem to need 1/4 hip

So the two 'body' fabrics are sewn side by side with a french seam? Does that mean the total width of that fabric would be the 'Yuki' + Seam Allowance?

Could you have sprayed Magic Sizing on the threads to lightly coat them in starch so they would not stick or cling together? Your scarf is beautiful from what I can see from the video! Your whole self is in that scarf. Great job! God Bless! 🙂

it's pretty difficult to tell exactly what you are doing. it would help if visually you showed where on the final product you are sewing or held up the piece. Every time you show yourself sewing or ironing, it looks exactly the same and is difficult to follow along with or tell exactly what you are doing. the drawings are helpful for cutting, and understanding what you are doing to each individual piece, but not where it applies as a whole.

How to measure uchiage ?
@jaysworkshop2497
@jaysworkshop2497 Жыл бұрын
The amount of fabric taken in with the uchiage is the needed length minus the actual length. If you cut your fabric exactly the length that you need, then you won't need to tuck any fabric into the uchiage.

Hoi Jay, it`s Ok take your time you doing fine!. Look at the lens of the yarn! the longer the yarn the less twist you need to do. Start with cheep yarn (fiber) Flax, Hemp, and others long road with a lot of experience and understanding your loom. I got the feeling you will do great no short cut, or any other idea before you are comfortable and weaving be second nature for you. Jay, the yarn you spin is NOT the yarn you will use as a WARP on the loom. Be kind to yourself and your work cheers Adam.
