I have a massey 135 and a great Chevy 350 laying around. Is this conversion possible for me? I was also wondering if using implements is possible after conversion. Like plowing, Bush hogging..etc. How different is the torque after conversion?. Thanks you. Such a great build and video!!
@asgardgeoff3 жыл бұрын
I would think that a 350 would go very nicely in a 135. Maybe the revs, and thus ground speed, would be too high for implement use. There are other people on KZbin who have done similar conversions, would be worth ask the question to them.

@@asgardgeoff Hell no! You're a tractor engineer man. It's the fact that you had the nouse and figured out the things required and then. You put the theory into material showing you're correct. Thus engineered? I have some planning in the brain for a similar thing myself which led me here doing research. I don't do predictions but I may copy your build video style after there is a completed tractor. You could sell the conversion parts that are more technical leaving the fiddly stuff to the builder like fuel supply, power circuits. Axle mods wheel choice, clutch and flywheel. This becomes a few components requiring some intelligence to get their project finished. Add a warning sticker about no liability and such actions as may cause injury or death are a real danger of using this equipment? finished. However the price also will spook a lot of jokers clear away from the persuit Ay?

What part of the world is tractor located in? The Standard 23C four cylinder diesel had a problem starting in sub-zero temperatures, which weren't generally a problem where I am, Australia. My paternal grandfather had a very similar tractor and an uncle a petrol version of the MF-35
@asgardgeoff5 жыл бұрын
Hi, I'm also in Australia, NSW, close to Newcastle. I had heard about the starting problem with these motors, so while the head was off I took the opportunity to open up the pre-combustion cambers a little and smooth the corners and edges, with the assumption that it would improve air flow and make it easier to start. It seems to start fairly well now. Currently I have my eye on a 3 cylinder 35 that I would love to restore and add to my collection.

Shame he didn't use the correct paint colours. It should be Stoneleigh Grey not Charcoal Grey that wans't used until 1983, 25 years after this tractor was built and the wheels should be Stonleigh Grey too, red and silver came in in 1964 on the last of the 35Xs and the 135.

Not if it was intended to be restored to original. Restoration to anything but original is not restoration but modification. I guess I am a MF35X purist and I accept each to his/her own.
