@@vincog what is the smile face mask? From the acolyte? If so, no. I hate that series.

Thanx for fast reply.I mean, can pop 3 scan the smiley face mask in your video? I want to make sure if pop 3 can scan the teeth on the mask?

Howdy pard'. Thanks for providing a succinct and easy to watch video, it's appreciated. I agree that 3D Builder (maybe because it's free?) is a highly underrated piece of software. Even though I am somewhat familiar with Blender my go-to for most things is indeed 3D Builder of late. I'm still wrestling with getting Orca to properly apply infill to the cavity created by 3DB when I 'Hollow' but will keep at it. Fortunately, I also own Simplify 3D and it seems to behave better with the 'Hollow' thing. As to your Deleting and then Control 'Z' ing all of your helmet parts, that's smart. I like to Copy and Paste the individual pieces into separate 3D Builder windows and Save them individually because sometimes I'm adding or manipulating that portion (kinda like your Uni-Trooper example). Thanks again for taking the time, even though it was two years ago. ; - )

This looks awesome even for you just learning it. I'm looking for a 3d scanner too, and I'm looking at a Range 2. For lighting, you could use two soft box lights to get some diffuse light

I actually have those, but in my designated area, there is simply no room for it. In my 12x12 office/printing area, it's very cramped what with my desk and 5 printers jammed in here.

@galaxy5iveArmory11 ай бұрын
Was the stl file free? If so, where did you get it? I can try it out myself because I'm not sure what you're describing. It will "face off" the cut portions which is normal, but I can't be certain what problem you're having.

I have a GK Two printer and it's factory slicer. I use it to print 32mm scale miniatures. Would this program be better than the slicer to cut the hilt off of one sword that has two hands on it, then take a second sword and cut that hilt off, that has one hand on it then put the blade and guard section of the first model sword and the hilt of the second model sword with a single hand on it together?
@galaxy5iveArmory Жыл бұрын
IMO, absolutely yes! If you were only cutting the pieces for printing, any slicer that has this option will be great. But if you intend to combine them, it's been my experience that 3D builder does a much better job than most others for that purpose.

Hi Tom, thank you for creating this video! I noticed that the mask appears to be slightly shiny under the light, I think it needs skills, but the result looks so good.👍

You can also click the L key in edit mode in Blender to select an island.

@backforblood3421 Жыл бұрын
@@galaxy5iveArmory Right. Well, I wrote the comment in response to the part where you went into wireframe mode or X-ray view to select the thing that was floating behind the mask, which opens up the possibility of selecting vertices/edges/faces from somewhere else and possibly deleting them without noticing.

Look, I have 3 fdm machines and I can't get them to print for crap anymore. Two Kobra Max and an SV 03. Oh and Ender 3 Pro. Point is I am thinking of cutting everything in 3D Builder and doing originals in resin to make molds for casting. FDM is never really durable enough for constant cosplay either. IDK. I want to FDM but it just won't pan out for me. I print resin like a champ though. Done lots of statues Fun stuff!
@galaxy5iveArmory Жыл бұрын
Wow. Me too. I am down to running 4 fdm printers, and for the past 2 weeks, I've been fighting them to print ANYTHING! Right now I have one going again, and still cussing at the other 3. I just don't get it anymore. Problem for me is, I need large build volume. Can't get that with resin without paying out the nose. Just out of my budget.
@KurtisJoseph Жыл бұрын
@@galaxy5iveArmory I have to have the build volume as well. Using 4 liters of resin to print a helmet sounds out of budget. Especially when you want to do entire suits. Hence the 2 Kobra Max machines and the SV 03. However, I am hoping this video can help me get a couple helmets together and on the display shelf.
