Fun fact: While the word bonsai is of Japanese origin, the concept of this art form actually took root in China. Since the Yin and Zhou dynasties nearly 3,000 years ago, people in China have cultivated ornamental plants to imitate natural scenery within gardens - a craft known as penjing.

1:12 It was actually around 35 when the Constitution was ratified, which is exactly why the founders chose 35 as the minimum age to president. This does NOT mean most people died at 35; in fact, if someone made it over the age of 18, it’s very likely they’d survive to be close to 70. The average life expectancy was only 35, though, because infant mortality was extremely high compared to now (many babies didn’t make it past a couple of years)

I asked a lady friend why she wouldn't want to time travel. She only reads history books. She minced no words "it's a really stupid idea that nobody should do" she's the historian I'm the scientist philosopher. But eh yeah I might tell her she's right since I looked up this video after but I might not tell her I'd go for it after enough people survived

I saw *Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom* on TV some years after its release. The violence, gore, and gross stuff were far too much for me to take. I was just a kid back then, and...well, I felt very 🤢 during certain scenes that I won't go into detail here. Then again, the *Jaws* films in the 1970s and 1980s were equally as disturbing as the Indiana Jones films were. Not so much Jaws 2, but Jaws and Jaws 3-D really made me sick to my stomach during certain scenes. I know that I am extremely sensitive to violence and gore, but I've always been that way since I first saw such content as a kid in the 1980s. As such, let me rate some movies as I think they should be rated: *JAWS* (1975) (R) *JAWS 2* (1978) (PG then, PG-13 today) *JAWS 3-D* (1983) (R) *JAWS: THE REVENGE* (1987) (R) *POLTERGEIST* (1982) (R) *POLTERGEIST II* (1986) (R) *POLTERGEIST III* (1988) (R) *GREMLINS* (1984) (R) *INDIANA JONES: RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK* (1981) (R) *INDIANA JONES & THE TEMPLE OF DOOM* (1984) (R) *INDIANA JONES & THE LAST CRUSADE* (1989) (?) Note: I haven't seen The Last Crusade in many years, so I can't remember enough to give it a rating. And, I haven't seen any Indiana Jones movie after The Last Crusade. *CRITTERS* (1986) (R) *CRITTERS 2* (1988) (R) *CRITTERS 3* (1991) (R) Note 2: I haven't seen the fourth Critters film or any others that were released later. *HALLOWEEN* (1978) (PG then, PG-13 today) *HALLOWEEN II* (1981) (R) *HALLOWEEN III: SEASON OF THE WITCH* (1982) (R) *HALLOWEEN 4* (1988) (R) *HALLOWEEN 5* (1989) (R) *HALLOWEEN* (2007 remake) (R) Note 3: Those are all I've seen in the Halloween franchise. *THE FOG* (1980) (PG then, PG-13 today) *THE FOG* (2005 remake) (R) I could go on and on, but I hope you see my point.

The plain English meaning of "Genetically Modified Organism" is exactly what she says it is. But let's save some time. The term has been used by a large group of people who say they are against GMO but who are really against only "Organisms Genetically Modified Using Recombinant DNA Technology". When you see or hear people saying they are either for or against GMO food, that's what they mean. OK, I admit that there are some people who have heard the term and decided to be for or against it without knowing what it means. Ignore them.

Im going to a Film School soon in Los Angeles for Film Production and honestly I couldn't be more excited!! I'll be going for my Bachelor's in Film Production and making movies is my life's purpose. I've heard you don't really HAVE TO go into Film School to have a career in the industry, however it does offer some amazing connections and open more doors so if anyone out there is hoping to get into the industry I'd definitely recommend it... If you could afford it of course. Or take Film courses at a traditional college/University. 😁

I'm happy for you . I have absolutely zero experience and nowhere near any schooling of any kind. But I love movies with a passion , always have. and I'm thinking of doing something foolish and leaving my home state , jumping on a bus and heading to Hollywood in hopes I can begin working on a set of some kind just to get any experience under my belt. After watching interviews of those in the Industry it seems as if that's the idea ... Lol literally living on hopes and dreams . Exposing oneself to that area/environment is beneficial in a variety of ways but the thought of even getting onto a set seems a challenge . No way of ever knowing until you put yourself out there . Anything worth while in life takes risk of some degree and the fear associated with that risk can either consume you or motivate you . One will keep you stalled and hinder the other will motivate you to some degree and set you on an adventure. Hope the best for you 😉
@hicrhodushicsalta43825 ай бұрын
@@Dead2Self1990 honestly that sounds foolish, but please keep me updated if you go through with your plan :) I can only recommend going on smaller sets in your area first. If you see a production happening offer your help for free and advance from there

In the words of SomeCallMeJohnny in his Sonic 06 re-review: Time travel is bullsh*t! Why time travel?! That's almost never a good plot device because if it's done incorrectly, which is very easy to do, sh*t like this can happen.

I blame Blumhouse for wrecking the modern horror movie genre. They want the movie to appeal to mass audiences, so they make sure the film ends up with a PG-13 rating. If they were in charge of making movies like Alien, Aliens, Friday the 13th, Halloween, or A Nightmare on Elm Street, those movies would have ended up being watered down films no one would remember seeing even a few years later, let alone several decades later.

I hate that the NC-17 rating can be a "kiss of death" to many movies since in the US, many cinemas and distributors don't want to deal with a NC-17 Movie, so filmmakers censor their movies (including internationally) so that they get an R instead.
@collegeman1988 Жыл бұрын
Yes, but one way a film can get around the kiss of death NC-17 rating is to edit out the scenes that the MPAA board find objectionable when shown in theaters, then release an unrated version of the film on home video or other streaming service. Because fewer and fewer people are going to see movies in the theater, the MPAA will end up with diminished authority over which films aren’t distributed. Also, film is no longer a physical object (film reels) that have to be hand delivered to a location. Instead, it’s a movie in a digital medium transmitted over the Internet.
