Wow, that looks like such a depleted ecosystem, almost like you found a fish living after the apocalypse. I am ok sharing this knowing you can delete it and it won't impact your channel. I just want to share, nothing personal. Just if you read the accounts of the fisherman who fished there before. It would be clear the state of this moment in the video. Today I read from "Fish and Fisheries" (2006) Blackwell publishing Ltd. It has accounts of mariners descriptions of the ecology of the Sea of Cortez from 16-18th century, descriptions of the abundance. No doubt you love spearfishing. I too, have loved fishing, it's apart of who I am. I fished for the grandpa who took me on my first fishing trip. I get it. I fed him when he was too old. Can't think of something more fulfilling... Spearfishing is disgraceful and should be illegal, they are responsible for overfishing and taking fish from in shore areas all around the world, killing anything and everything just for fun, should be banned period.

That's not a thermocline. The blur happens because of change in the refraction index as light travels through a different medium. In this case it is a change in salinity of the water. Its referred to as Halocline.
