Beautifully chanted... but the text is wrongly translated from the original... Please stick with original Greek Texts... you are causing confusion and schism in the Church which is actually the work of the Devil... The Vatican got lost in Translation... the Protestants got lost in translation and you see the work of the Devil... hurting the ONE, HOLY, CATHOLIC and APOSTOLIC Church of Jesus Christ... It's not that difficult to learn Greek and with so many years in the Church you should be fluent by now... are you mentally deficient, simply lazy or complacent? Get your act together. I pray that your ego won't get the best of you and you will replace this video with one where you chant this beautiful hymn in the language it was written and the music that was written for those words... Remember the music is subservient to the text... if you have the wrong texts then all your valiant effort is in vain.

Hear is St Nektarios Greek Orthodox Church (Sam Herron's parish) celebrating Transfiguration. Looks like the Cherubic Hymn and Megalynarion were mode 4. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y4a0YWCFgat7h7M

I know it's not a studio recording, but it is a little hard to listen along. If you can read the score it's a little easier. Of course, beautiful chanting by both choirs.

Yes, it was a reverberant space and the recorder didn’t hold up, but I figured with the score it helps a bit

This is why I don’t like the idea that Byzantine chant can’t be done well in english. It’s true that some executions of it sound robotic, but it can be done well, as demonstrated here

Many thanks for the video and especially for the lyrics and music notation. Bless the Lord, O my soul, amen.

Thank you you very much for showing the Byzantine notation as you are chanting. I am clueless as to how to understand to read it. This helps give me a much better understanding of how it's chanted. May God continue to bless you in your wonderful work. 🙏💕☦️🕊
