Seki sensei moves very different here than when teaching his koryu. I must wonder if practicing conventional iaido is harmful to learning traditional koryu jutsu?

This is just my personal opinion but I think it can be, and doesn't have to be, depending on the practitioner. If you can keep it compartmentalised in your brain, it shouldn't be a problem, but some people can't and they mix it up.

Shows what u kno , seki sensei was trained by WW2 vet who ACTUALLY KILLED GI W DAISHO,officers had daisho and pistols thats pair of katana Uchigatana Edo Katana&Wakazashi w Tanto,Tessen and tradtiol blades built into saya , kata focuses the mind and gets u used to transitoning from one cut to another w correct stance posture & power,there is no iaido without ritual as u need to kno its not real abd take from it whay works in moment , just because ge does this does not limit his skill,but fuCC all that he learned from a real swordsman
