Yeah I can help you a bit. he is super mega immortal. And I never said this was dead but for the crew and mk it feels like it since his body is trap in this temple. And wukong know he is mega immortal so he had all the time to plan something that could get him feeling closer to the previous group. Let's just call this swk mega long vacation that may or may not surpass the life spam of his current lmk crew. This about a story i made before seaon 2. Monkey king made a type of curse that will turn him into a statue when he found a successor. Long time his idea was to find a person, give it powers and then he could rest in peace along side his family. But he didn't realize that he would get attached and even tho he like his new family there was no way out of the curse he made.

He is not necessarily dead, more like he made his own world to be with his jjtw family so his body is turned to stone and his spirit is trapped in his ideal world. But he can still guide Mk through his astral form but only Mk can see him. But yeah, sound dead, but it is just my excuse to go against the 'he can't die he is mega immortal' cases.

Wukong is the type of a deity who always understands what his students feel like when he's about to leave. Especially MK. And using his humoristic skills to encourage him shows how much proud is he of the boy. He's not only a teacher, but a pretty good father figure .

Unless Wukong finally gets over his intense fear of death, I'm not sure how he'd willingly do this in the actual series Unless that's the end of his arc...literally. Or if this is the only way to fully pass on his powers-- though I don't think MK would ever want that.

When I listens "Leave out all the rest" - Linkin Park, it always reminds me about this animatic, and I come here. Your work makes me feel sorrow, but with then there are something kinda encouraging and powering up to me. When I'm looking on MK and Monkey King's goodbye scene, I represent them with myself and my dance mentor. That's why I can't hold up my tears at the end, when MK's talking with statue of Monkey King. Great thanks to you for this incredible animatic.

I would be so sad if this is how the show ends, but also satisfied with the journey i was taken on (kinda like gravity falls) leaving room for their stories to live on. Great writing as well! Okay, this is great, but why am I picturing MK being killed in battle or something and Wukong watching him from the Heavens and being angry and sad that he got killed?! Or when MK wakes in Heaven and he asks him "Did I do good?" and Wukong hugs him and says ""You were perfect" while crying because MK was killed so young?! God, this video is giving me so many fanfic ideas!
