Holy crap, I just realized that Green Day stole this guitar melody for their mega hit song "When I Come Around" . It's completely identical to Green Day's song which was written just a few years later. There's absolutely no way it's just a coincidence. It's bad enough that Green Day stole from their style from the classic punk band band Stiff Little Fingers but now I find out that it's not the only thing that they stole. I understand a band being influenced by other bands which came before but this is blatant robbery, and now there's more than one example of it.

green day absolutely did not hear a neutral milk hotel song as underground as this in 1994. this is one of the most used chord progressions in pop music. the beatles - let it be, the rolling stones - beast of burden, bush - glycerine, etc etc etc

There is no studio recording of this song as far as we know. This version in the video was put on the Ferris Wheel EP back in 2011, recordist unknown
